Golf Cart Accident

I talked to Bobby. He wants to start a new golf cart policy. All operators, whether renting a cart or bringing their own, will be required to attend a 1 day program in golf cart operation, followed by a road test. If you pass, you will be given a golf cart operator's license good for one year. All drivers of the cart must have one. The cost will only be $150.00 per driver. In addition, all carts, whether rented or personally owned, will be required to take out Mickey's Joyful Cart Insurance - a liability policy costing only $300.00 per week or portion of a week. These costs are in addition to any cost of rental. It is nonrefundable. Any violators will have their cart impounded and will be evicted from WDW and banned from any Disney properties for life. We both agreed this would not only increase safety at FW but also create a good source of income for Disney since people will pay whatever Disney charges for anything anyway.

Dis mgt says (as of now) that private carts will stay. We shall see.

I was with Donnie and the cop did say no alcohol.

You cant base anything on what an officer tells you on scene. He/She is not at liberty to discuss the issue and it would be inappropriate to make remarks about someone being investigated. No conclusions should be drawn based on any remarks.

Think about this:

What do you think is the reason for the existence of many of the law enforcement jobs around WDW? Could it have something to do with WDW requesting law enforcement presence?

Do you think WDW wants to create the perception that people are getting out of control drunk on their property and injuring guests?

Do you think the above two questions would have any influence over what information goes into a report regarding an incident?

If you are implying that the officer would not accurately write a report on an incident, I think you are making a very bold statement, one which I disagree completely with.

Is this true? I can't afford $150 dollars. Does anyone have the contact info for Bobby? I hope this is a joke!

Wow I don't know if I'd post that about a Law Enforcement Officer. First of all it is completely scandelous and Second of all I don't believe it to be true

Hate to say it, and start mud slinging, but that guy spent the week drunk. They were in our loop, constant party. And I never saw that cart driving responsibly except for 1 time-and the wife was driving. Infarct, we had to get out of this guys way as he took the corner in front of our site(wrong way might I add) like he was taking turn 4. I also saw him with a LOADED cart of screaming hooligans driving full speed through the pool area with no regard to the fact our children were playing there. Slam on the breaks just as he ran into a picnic table, spin around and race back out. My DD also scurried out of the way at one point because this guy apparently couldn't tell where the road ended and the sidewalk began.

No alcohol-I highly doubt it.

Disney can say what they want, but they need to step up patrols, or get CM's that will actually follow through and do something. This little girl could have been killed, and it all could have been avoided if something had been done when this guy was acting like an %$# earlier in the week.

You're in Disney for God's sake, with your family. There's having fun, and then there's being stupid. I'm just glad she is ok.

When I talked to him earlier in the day about his cart he was a bit incoherent or my hearing is just going bad. I didn't smell any alcohol but who knows. I did see them partying hard in the 800 loop several times over the week. I stayed in the 700 loop that week and talked with the campers around the crash area "713 near the walk through to the comfort station". all stated that the sheriff officers found the hidden beer and the red cup that was on his cart just before the roll over. Some think that he was driving very fast on the sidewalk from the comfort station into the 700 loop and rolled when he got to the road and made the hard turn to avoid a car parked in the site across from the sidewalk. (near or maybe Mobile Mickeys site)
I do know that his cart is much faster than mine is. I couldn't keep up with him when I was going wide open.

My photo - no cup. He put it in the holder just before I snapped this picture
