Golf at Hilton Head

I am in the early stages of planning a guys golf trip to Hilton Head. Does anyone know if there are discounts available for tee times at courses near the DVC resort?

There are and I think the available discounts can vary. Contact the resort directly and they can give you the current list/info.

There are discounts at the courses in Palmetto Dunes. Whatever the discount is (I don't remember the amount), it isn't much, but every little bit helps. Last trip, DH made his tee times directly with Palmetto Dunes, but once they found out where we were staying, they said to ask for the discount card at the front desk of our resort. DH is proud to say that he's played virtually every course on HHI over the years, except the private ones, and only found discounts at Palmetto Dunes for Disney resort members.

The most reasonable courses are just over the bridge to the mainland.
Hilton Head National and Old South. They are very nice and priced right.

DH has played both those courses and they're two of his favorites. Hilton Head National is kept in great shape, at least when DH has played there. Last year, he played at HHN one day, then the Ocean Course in Sea Pines the next, much more expensive. Later he complained that the Ocean Course wasn't in very good condition (he's an ex-greenskeeper, and thought it was kept sloppily) and admitted to me that he was probably spoiled by how well kept Hilton Head National was.
