we are heading there june 8-16 so i was wondering if anyone has played the disney golf courses. i was thinking of sneaking away for a morning round one day. Which is the best course to play? any advice?
thanks

We've played a few times, Palm, Magnolia and Osprey, but we found the twilight hours were cheaper, after 3 pm.

I have played three courses. Palm, Magnolia, and Lake Buena Vista. I didn't "sneak" though, I always planned one morning to go and play. Everytime I played I rented clubs (I brought my own golf shoes, balls and tees). The last time I rented clubs they were Calloway's (better clubs than I have at home). Now granted nothing is ever cheap in Disney.
I personally like Lake Buena Vista. I will never forget the par five that a ranger was standing on and said, "Tiger used a driver and a nine iron on this hole". The hole was about 487 yards. I thought to myself that driver, driver and i still would be way short. I had my best score on this course, also....83!

We will be there at around the same time. Our dates are June 12th-18th. My husband is a golfer and I KNOW that he will golf at least twice while we are there. Don't think he's set any tee times, yet.

He hit 3 (I think) of the courses on our last trip, so he may have some tips for you. I'll check with him & forward any info.

My DH has played all of the Disney courses and says that if he had to pick a favorite it would be Osprey Ridge. He wasn't disappointed in any of them by far, but just if he had to pick. :goodvibes In his opinion, you could draw a course out of a hat to make your decision and be totally satisfied - as with everything Disney, all of the courses are phenomenal! Have a great trip!

thank yall for the help! I know i said "sneak out and play a round" but really i am taking my clubs with me and am planning on playing on either june 12th or 13th.

my votes for buena vista. we got lucky, there was nobody infront or behind us when we played in oct. i only lost a sleeve of balls. i forget the hole number but it was in old key west. the green was an island:sad2: very nice place to play!! we had fun.(even the driving range has water to hit over!!)

Glad you are taking your clubs with you! Last year when I played it was over $130.00 to play, and I believe I even had a coupon or showed my AP (can't remember which). Anyway, the courses are always in great shape and "fun" to play.
The fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were fast (in the morning).
So, good luck, and have fun!

Turkeys, deer and armadillo. We seen so many playing Osprey it was like being in a zoo. And the other thing there we ain't got in Ohio, it the weird rough, ball lands in that stuff and its gone, it sinks and is tough to find, who ever plays bring alot of balls unless you play the fairways, which I never do.

I pack 2 dozen golf balls everytime I am scheduled to play. Only once (my score of 83) did I come back with a dozen and I always play Pro V1 (ouch). Like Pepe said, if not in the fairway, consider it gone...:rotfl2:

If you go through a dozen golf balls and are around a 10 handicap i my friend are in trouble. I am around a 16 handi. i am sure it will be fun playing one of these courses. thanks

Oh, you will have fun! Their fairways are like our greens. I was almost afraid to "hit" the ball due to the divot. There was the normal sand on the cart, etc.
The best hole is the island hole. I actually got it on the green in one, but 3 putt....of course.
I do like the courses and hope you DO enjoy yourself. Remember, it is just a game :lmao:

I'm glad I found this thread. DS is a golf lover and wanted to play a round while on our next Disney vacation. I didn't realize you could rent clubs down there, which sounds much more appealing than lugging DS's clubs through the airport and tripping over them at the resort. Anyone know what the club rental runs?

I think rentals are around $55 to $60. If you click on the DisHome tab and go to recreation and then Dis- golf you will find some info on it.
