We r staying at our dvc resort for the first time in January and my dh and des are planning to play two rounds of golf. I need some help....are they able to rent/borrow club like resort guests and how do they get to the golf courses... Taxi??

DVC Resort Guests receive the same benefits at the Golf Clubs as any other WDW Resort Guest would receive.

All 4 of the Walt Disney World Resort championship golf courses and a family-friendly 9-hole walking course are conveniently located within the Resort. For Guests who wish to play golf while staying on property, transportation via taxi to and from select Walt Disney World Resort hotels is provided at no charge. You may request a ride at the Valet Desk or from Bell Services at Resort hotels, and in the Pro Shop or from any golf operations staff members at the golf courses.

Please note complimentary transportation is only available to guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Guests are advised to check with Guest Services or Concierges for any transportation options offered by their hotel.

Golf Day Guests who wish to arrange their own transportation to the golf courses will find that there is no charge for parking at the golf course itself or when going through a Toll Plaza on the way to the golf courses.

This may sound silly but are we considered dvc resort guests even when we own dvc and are using points ?

You are a Disney Resort Guest regardless of how the stay is booked (cash or points).

We love the golf at Disney! and are DVC members - I think they are offering free rentals (not the best clubs but good - saves on the airline charges if that's a concern) - they changed ownership a few years ago so the DVC benefits have changed - be sure to ask the folks and also check online ahead of time...(we've found some employees weren't aware of the benefits )

Four 18-hole courses in order of difficulty, hardest to easiest: Palm, Osprey Ridge, Magnolia, and Lake Buena Vista. None is overly hard or overly easy. All are good courses to play. You can make tee times up to 90 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-GOLF. usually you can get what you want calling 30 days in advance but note weekend times fill sooner than weekday. Preferred grouping is four players and iif you are two you are likely to be hooked up with two others. The resort guest price per round is $105 per round first half of Jan and then Jan 18 premier season starts and it is $139

As a DVC member, you can get a discount that is usually about 35% or a little more. It applies to the member and up to three people playing with the member. Sounds great but not in your situation. Currently, and likely to still be in effect in Jan, you get complimentary clubs if you pay the full resort rate. You do not get clubs with any discount rate like DVC. Club rental is expensive, $45 per round. Thus, if you decide to bring your own clubs, go for the discount rate, if not you should likely choose the regular resort guest rate the first half of the month but the second half it is not clear whether the discounted rate plus club cost will be more or less than the resort guest rate.

As noted above they provide transportation to and from the courses, just contact front desk or valet services at the resort

I will have to check with delta and FedEx and did Iyer how much their clubs would be to ship....of course we are arriving jan 18 and that is when te rate changes.....jut my luck lol. Thanks.

i wanted to add that we just called the course today because a buddy of mine didn't want to bring his clubs when we play next week and we were told DVC members get rentals for $20 even when playing a discounted round at 35%.
