DH is needing to replace his Pride Victory 10.2 with a new mobility scooter, he really likes the Golden Companion HD GC540, without the batteries or seat it is about 100 lbs, which is lighter than the Victory 10.2 and the GC540 has suspension, built-in cup holders, etc.

I am just wondering if anyone has any experience with both scooter models and if they have a preference of one over the other?

Assuming you don't get many replies call some of the online vendors such as spinlife.com

Yeah, he was just wanting some real world examples from people who have no vested interest in selling anything ...lol

A local dealer is going to push whatever company they sell and whatever they have in stock.

The large internet sites such as spinlife sell all brands and might be more objective. They have an interest in selling something. Isn’t it time to upgrade your piece of junk. Your battery must be on its last legs.

They have less of a vested interest on which scooter you buy.

The number of real world users, who have used both, and who post on DIS can probably be counted using less then 1 finger.
Call Gold. They may have researched brands they don't rent.

Unfortunately, Gold is now an official Pride dealer, so they have a vested interest in selling Pride. DH went to our local pharmacy who actually stocks both brands and they find customers are equally satisfied with both, it just depends on which one has a product that meets their needs. For example, for a 500 lb. scooter, Pride makes a good one that handles all terrain, but is too large for Disney Parks and doesn't handle hills as well as the Golden Companion, but is more comfortable when going on grass and bumpy terrain that the Golden Companion HD. The Golden Companion HD is also substantially lighter.

Another factor is repairability, it appears Golden Technologies are easier to repair yourself after the warranty period. And both have similar, although slightly different warranties.

Overall, it is looking like the GC540 is the only one that actually meets his needs.
