Gold Plan questions

We (DH and myself, in our twenties) will be going in early Jan. for 8 days staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We had decided to add on the Silver Plan, and just switched to Gold. Here are my questions:

We've never done any of the recreational activities like Surrey bikes and water mice before. Are they fun/worth the time? Will they not let you take the water mice out if it's too cold?

Same with the parasailing - is it still offered in January? Do you think we'd freeze? I'm hoping for warm days (fingers crossed)!!

We're going to try the Keys to the Kingdom and Backstage Safari tours. Are any of the other tours that are included definite must-dos?

Horesbackriding is included, but what about carriage rides?

Is it really possible to eat the 3 full meals a day (if they're spaced out by 5-7 hours) and *not* get sick of eating? ;)

Thanks for any advice/suggestions!!:D

I have been on the gold plan at least 4 times so hopefully I can be of some help. (I'm in my 20's too and going in 10 days with my DH2B)

I have never gone in Jan but I think the boats are still operating, not sure about parasailing, you should call to check. The water mice and surreys are lots of fun. I like taking the boats from the contemporary so you can ride around bay lake and seven seas lagoon. I could do it for hours. Make sure you each take a boat so you can race.

The tours you've selected sound great. We are doing the safari tour too. You might want to try one of the WS tours since I've heard they are great.

I was told carriage rides are not included. At one time hayrides from FW were included but I'm not sure if they still have them and are still included. Horseback riding is fun too. I've done that twice.

I love to eat so eating 3 meals a day is no big deal to me. I'm in heaven when I'm there. We eat early breakfast around 8-8:30, lunch close to 2 and then dinner close to 8 and we're fine. Plus it won't be hot when you are there so eating 3 meals should be easier on you. I find I'm a little less hungry in hot weather but with all the walking we do I work up a good appetite.

Some people here will tell you it's not worth the money but I disagree. We always break even or save money plus there is the convenience of having all that stuff paid for in advance and being able to order whatever you want or do whatever you want without worrying if you have enough money.

If you have any questions feel free to ask here or PM me. I'll have lots of info once we come back from WDW in mid Aug.
