Hi! I was just wondering something...On Disney's pdf. pamphlet on the gold plan 2004 it looks like you get dinner on your arrival and get breakfast and lunch on your deptarture date. Do they just pool all the meals allowed (a 4 day stay would be 9 meals) or is it exactly like the pamphlet? What if we arrive early on the first day? Could we have lunch and dinner on the first day and only breakfast on the last (we have a pretty early flight on the deptarture day). I hope that made some sense! I sort of rambled on.
Thanks!

This was confusing to me before we arrived, so I'm happy to try to explain.

When you check in (and early checkin is allowed) you are issued your total meal allowance in "coupons". Every time you use your room key to charge, the number of coupons you have left appears on the receipt. You don't actually get coupons (except for La Nouba), they are stored electronically.

We booked a three night stay on the gold plan. There were three of us in the party. We received 27 "coupons" at check in. Each time we ate, coupons were deducted. We managed to have 4 lunches and 3 dinners during our stay by paying for an inexpensive breakfast at Roaring Forks.

Enjoy your trip and happy eating!

Just for clarification...

Does it not matter what meal you use the gold plan coupon for? In other words, we could eat a nice dinner the night of arrival and the last night we are on the package (we are staying an extra night off property) so long as we pay for some meal along the way (or eat the continental breakfast included on our tour :smooth: )???

We just returned from our 11 day Gold Plan honeymoon and in answer to your question in reference to whether it matters which meal you use your coupons for, the answer is no. On the Keys to the Kingdom tour you get lunch, therefore we had an extra coupon. The day we left, we didn't leave until early evening so we had dinner in place of that missed lunch. The coupons are good until midnight on the day you check out so if you have any extra coupons that you didn't use, you can fill up on that last day. Just a little advise do your homework, look into all the restaurants and their menus. You can truly eat like a king on the plan!

BTW....Beaker...have you posted a trip report?? I was curious to see how your trip turned out. Also...it would be nice to read a gold plan trip report....as we are doing it in Sept.

I haven't had a chance yet to write a trip report but I have all my info together and just need to take the time to do it. It was an outstanding experience, on the Gold Plan, and I would highly recommend it for anyone that likes high activity and enjoys eating good food! Look for a review of the entire 11 days hopefully this weekend. Have a great time in Sept also, you'll love it!

Thanks
I'll be looking for your reviews. I can't wait to read them.

Unless it's changed-we've done the gold plan 3 times. We have 4 people, 10 nights so 120 "points" on our room key. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner almost everyday (everything from Character meals, to dinner shows, CRT-major food overload-seemed like we were always sitting down to eat) and still had points left at the end of it-so don't stress about how you will use your points. They don't take "points" for La Nouba, golf, tours, recreation so your "points" only count for meals.
Go nuts-have fun!!
