Gold Pass Upgrade

We planned a spur of the moment long weekend trip down to Disney next weekend. I'm super excited, but now I need some clarification.

I currently have an active gold pass that expires January 2018, am I correct that I can upgrade this to the premium annual pass for no charge, or so I have that all wrong?

Second question... would they be able to do the upgrade at a water park?

We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, our first stay there, and our first non-DVC stay in ages.

I'm guessing you paid the pre-Feb '17 $549 for your gold pass, and the upgraded Platinum Plus pass is $559, so I would expect to pay ~$10.65 (with tax) for the upgrade.

Yes, water park guest relations can handle an AP transaction (just not TIW)

The next day I went to guest relations at Epcot, and they did the upgrade for free. I was careful to be sure I wouldn't lose a month, as I bought my gold pass during a 13 month for the price of 12 promo - and my expiration date did not change.

Good call on making sure to not lose the 13th month. I'll keep an eye on that as well.

Your renewal window is 60 days before until 30 days after current expiration. You will be able to renew to the Platinum plus at the renewal price - appx. $505. You can also upgrade your current gold to the P+ for free, or just over $10 depending on your purchase date.

Are you talking about getting him a DVC pass? Does your nephew live with you? If not he is not eligible.
