Gold Mobility Breaking down a Victory 10 for a car

I haven't been able to find an answer to this question on the board. I am renting a car for our stay in Disney.

I was going to rent from Gold and was interested in the Pride Victory 10 (3 wheel). Looking at the description it says "Feather-Touch disassembly lets you transport your scooter in 5 easy pieces - the heaviest of which weighs 54.5 lbs. The components will fit in the back of most SUV’s and vans" Does this mean I have to rent an SUV or van? I'm also stuck on the word "should". What type of vehicles have people used to transport the Victory 10? I have used Walkers and after breaking the scooter apart it would fit in the trunk of a car but sometimes I would put the seat in the cars backseat. While we normally use Disney transport, this trip we are doing so much hopping around that waiting for buses just isn't practical. Using taxis and Minnie vans would probably equal the cost of upgrading my car to an SUV.

Hi, Belle1962.

I think the term Feather-Touch disassembly is just a nice term for disconnect the front and rear sections.

Will you be the only one lifting the 54-lb piece and putting it in the car?

Gold Mobility will bring and pick up your mobility scooter to the resort.

Just guessing, but it sounds like you are either staying offsite or you want to travel off Disney campus during your stay.

If you do need travel where WDW transport doesn't go, you might let Gold Mobility know about that. They might suggest an easier and smaller mobility scooter for you if you don't think that you can lift the heaviest piece by yourself or if you are staying offsite.

I used to take my old Pride REVO mobility scooter and put it in my trunk.

I finally figured out a plan or best way to put the different parts in my car trunk so that the seat would fit, too.

I did have to take the armrests off and put the seat in first upside down in the back rear corner.

Then I lifted the heaviest part, which consisted of the motor and rear wheel section sideways next to it.

I had enough room to put the tiller front section in. I rolled it into the right rear.

Then I laid my two batteries on top of flat foot area of the front section.

Finally, I put in the armrests.

I eventually got so hard for me.

Even though I could lift the heaviest part, when I turn to put it in the trunk, I started losing my balance and falling to the pavement.

Plus, at the end of the day, I barely had the strength to take it apart and put it back in the trunk.

That is why I like WDW.

I use all of their transportation.

Ray, I don't read it the way you do at all.
The OP Never states or indicates they are staying offsite. The OP never states or indicates that they want to travel offsite. the OP simply states they are hopping about and don''t want to wait for Disney Transportation. How you disassembled your mobility device is certainly interesting, but is that helpful to OP?

OP @Simba's Mom recently posted that she rented from Gold Mobility and I believe she transported the smaller scooter. I would reach out to her.

Hi there! Big Bend NP finally released me to the world of internet and cell phones. Yes, I rented from GMS, but I didn't transport it. I think it was the smaller go-go sport? It seemed relatively light for breaking down. As a matter of fact, I am currently researching mobility scooters that break down (BTW, any recommendations?) and the sport is one I'm considering.

I have a Victory 10 three wheel and can get it into my Ford Fusion Energi which has a miniscule trunk since it's a plug in hybrid with a big battery pack, but I have to use almost all the back seat. The large front piece with the tiller is what takes up the most space; even with the Tiller folded in the lowest position it still sticks up quite a bit. Gold mobility uses the the high back seat, which while it folds down would take up more space than the standard seat which is what I have since the high back part of the seat sticks up a bit more when folded. The pieces do weigh a bit more than some of the scooter models which are designed to be easily transportable but is doable.
