I heard they are selling gold Mickey ears for the 50th anniversary, but I can't find out if this is true and how much they are. Has anyone seen and/or purchased them?

Thanks! :earsgirl:

They run $10 I think and yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause! I mean....er... yes, they are selling them. ;)

The price went up since they were so popular, they are now $11.50.

I don't have a picture of our, but I've seen a few people wearing them in the pictures on their signatures. Look around, I'm sure you'll find some. Or maybe there's a picture in the 50th merchandise thread. Let me check.

I didn't know this...when I got ours at the Mad Hatter they only had two.

The next day we were in the hat shop on Main Street and they had 3...at which point I realized that we got the "juniors" size...medium. Which explains why mine just kind of perches on top of my hair, lol!

We're the original big head family...if you've got anyone who has a big head, hold out for the "adult" sized hats, :earboy2: .

Yes you can get your name put on the gold mickey ears.

Does anyone else think that the gold ears are U-G-L-Y? Even worse, has anyone else seen the gold ears antenna balls...they look like a child dumped gold glitter all over them. I for one, was really dissappointed in the styles of the 50th merchandise, and how many things that were the blue background with all of the characters were out of stock the day that we went. I saw a lot of adults wearing the cool blue background 50th tank tops with all of the characters, I waited until the end of the day to do most of my shopping. They were sold out in every store. Also, I wish they would have had a 50th magnet that wasn't a picture frame. The key chain was cool though, I bought one and added it to my key chain collection. My mom had fun pointing out all of the retro items she used to have, back when Disneyland was "uncool" in my opinion, LOL.

Mom2my2daughters -- Your daughter is simply adorable!

I still have my Mickey ears from way back in 1963, along with a few others from every now and then. No matter what the gold ears look like, I'm getting a pair, then having all the different ears put in a shadow box for display! Of course, my DH will think I'm crazy, but then what's new? :teeth:
