Edited to say: If your DH likes beer, as mine does, Sam Adams had a beer class last year. Maybe they will be there this year also. We were able to sample various beers and learned about the beer making process.

DH & I are going without kids in August. I have a massage scheduled and we are planning to do The Keys to the Kingdom Tour. We'll be able to ride the big rides together. I am especially looking forward to sitting down for meals & being able to have a real conversation with my hubby! Usually it never fails when we eat out with kids, my DD2 needs to go to the bathroom as soon as my food comes!

How do you go to WDW without the kids? I mean, do you tell them you are going elsewhere so they don't think you are the worst parents in the world for not taking them? Just curious as to what you tell them.

First of all, I am not offended by your question. It actually took some convincing from my husband for me to agree to go without kids. Our 3 kids will be at the beach with their grandparents & 3 of their cousins while we are at WDW, so it works out perfectly. Also, we told our kids that we would be doing some adult things that they would find boring. DH & I are celebrating our 15th anniversary this year and I am just now learning that taking time for ourselves actually makes us better parents!!

I wish we could learn to take time for ourselves. Our *time* seems to be friday afternoon groceries and then stopping for a coffee lol After 20 yrs.. its so romantic. NOT lol

We are going in October for our 4th Disney experience without the kids. Started in 2004 with friends, and we liked it so much we have been every year since. We take our kids in May. In October we get to do other things. We have taken the KTTK tour, Segway tour, and the Undiscovered Future World tour. We have had nice long dinners. We take our time walking the WS, which the kids don't like to do. This year we are trying TL for the first time. We enjoy every minute just the two of us. We come home feeling refreshed and we feel like our marriage is better and our parenting is better. We are very lucky that DH's mother will watch our boys. She looks forward to it and so do the boys. They get to go to the cabin in Vermont and experience things with their grandparents, which they will always remember. It works for us. Yes, the kids (two boys ages 4 and 6) are a little sad that they are missing Disney, but we are planning our May 2008 trip with them and May is all about them and what they want to do. In the fall it is all about us. Have fun!

But... now that the rates are fixing to be released for 2008, I'm getting a case of the guilts! I keep telling myself that my kids just got to go in June, and it's almost working!

We've never experienced anything at The Boardwalk, or any of the tours, so I'm psyched to start planning something new!

But... now that the rates are fixing to be released for 2008, I'm getting a case of the guilts! I keep telling myself that my kids just got to go in June, and it's almost working!

The Boardwalk is our favorite. I'm contemplating a tour when it's only DH and I. It's always fun to start planning a new trip to Disney.

The Swan/Dolphin have their rates through 2008. If you take advantage of your DH's Gov't discount.

We're going for a week in September without the kids. Anniversary trip for us. We told DD14 and DS8 the truth, that Mom and Dad need some grown-up time alone. Neither were upset about it. A couple of days after we told them we were presented with souvenier wish lists from them. We do everything except work and school as a family and they're probably looking forward to spending the week with Nona and Pap-pa. It also helps that we are planning a 2008 trip for everyone, including grandparents and a friend of DD. (I overheard DD telling DS that our kids only anniversary trip was o.k. because they could guilt us into a longer trip in 2008 haha)

Our best friends ( a couple who is childless by choice) do a "park free" Disney vacation every year. They play golf, shop, pleasure island, rent watercraft, parasail, and love Disney Quest.

DH and I are going in Dec; just us. No DS. We plan on never losing our buzz....We might also do either AC or Jellyroll's. We'll play that one by ear....

Where can I get those Grand Marnier slushies?

Have you planned anything special? We got ourselves a h'moon room at WL but I'd like to surprise DH with something special. The special concierge safaris are not available and a $200 private Wishes cruise might be a little out of our price range. Any ideas?

How about the IllumiNations cruise? I think it's a bit cheaper than $200.

We like to eat at The California Grill in the Contemporary. It's a bit more upscale than some of the other dining establishments and if you time it right, you can be there for Wishes, which can be viewed if you have a window table in the restaurant or from the observation deck just outside the restaurant. That makes for a nice evening.

I have always enjoyed getting a couple of beach chairs on the Poly beach at around 830PM (maybe stop and get a little adult beverage from the Poly bar) and watching the Electric Water Pageant go by.

We really just enjoy relaxing when we go...sit by the pool, meander around the World Showcase...especially at night, stroll through DTD.

Maybe consider seeing La Nouba...it's a bit expensive...I think like $60/ticket, but well worth it.

I'll second this. DH and I did our first grownups only trip when I was pregnant with our 3rd. We have AP's and live in FL, so it didn't cause too many hurt feelings when I told the older 2 (13 & 8 at the time) that we were going without them...they were madder at missing Cirque than a weekend at the parks.

We stayed at PO-FQ, and caught the boat to DTD, had dinner and time for some shopping before the show. It was a perfect 'babymoon'.

Book a nice supper - maybe at Ragalan Road & then stroll down to the show. After the show hang out around the shops and swing into Ghirardelli for some chocolate samples.

Makes for a nice evening.

My DH have gone twice without the kids...just being able to see an attraction or watch a show and SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER! Usually we get split up - one parent with each kid. AND - our kids have always been such sports about understanding our need to have some time to ourselves.

DW has been bugging me since our first family trip in 1998. I always resisted because I thought I would feel too guilty being there without them.

She finally got her way. We are heading to WL from 9/12-9/18. Just the two of us, to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Kids (DS16, DD13, DS10) are splitting time between grandparents and they all know we are going without them. They are just now starting to get a little jealous. And I am getting SUPER excited

We have ADR's for Artist Point, LeCellier, Chefs de France, and Raglan Road. We got tickets for Cirque, and we're taking the KTTK tour.

We're staying at WL, so we plan to take a carriage ride and a few night time strolls. Maybe sit on the beach and actually talk.

Whatever we do, we just hope to enjoy each others company. And try not to feel too guilty.

Well.....DH and I are still planning on going to the WORLD next year for our tenth anniversary. I am SO excited!!! But, I do feel guilty about leaving the kids. We took them this year, and it was the first trip for all of us. We plan on taking them in 09, as it will be their 5th/10th birthdays, as well as gradutating kindergarten and 5th grade...what a celebration, lol.
