My son will be 2 years and 7 1/2 months when we go. He's kinds a big guy for his age now and I'm wondering if by the time we go if we're going to be questioned about his age and have to bring proof? He's 15 months now and no one believes he's that young. Just a big (not fat) guy. FULL head of hair too. 3 hair cuts so far.

I know he's got a LOT of growing to do in the next year and 4 months so I'm premature in worrying about this but I was curious if I'd need to bring his birth certificate.

thanks!:smooth:

Some people do take proof of age, but I think the Disney policy is to not make you do that. They may ask the child how old he is rather than you, since kids are a lot less likely to lie. But if you're worried, then you may want to take a copy of something with his age just for peace of mind.

We just took a tall (38") 2 year, 7 month old. To be on the safe side I took along birth certificate. I was never once asked to prove his age and never had to use it.

Oh, I forgot to mention, both of my kids were born with full heads of hair and everybody is always surprised that my son is under 3 (in fact many people think he is 4).

I would not sweat over this one. We thought of taking a birth certificate for our son when he was 2. He was tall enough to ride Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain at that age and loved them!! No one even glanced twice at him upon park entrance. We now have a 2 year old daughter who is big for her age as well, but still no one has questioned us even once! I think Disney realizes they are getting plenty of our money, anyway, so they chose not to offend or put customers in an akward position by asking for proof of age.
Have a wonderful vacation!!
;) ;) ;)

My ds is also tall for his age, we went went he was 2 years and 3 months and people think he's already 3, but we didn't have any problems and nobody ever questioned us about his age.

I've never been questioned about my big kids, either. My 10yo is 5'2" and eats more than many grown-ups, but still gets charged the kid rates at some buffets. I'm always ready with their insurance cards, which have their birthdates on them.

Hi

Are you taking your own stroller? I think if the kids are in a stroller, they definitely don't look. My son was over 3 (!) and I was told by a disney store CM here in CHarleston not to buy a ticket for him! So I didn't and he was in the double stroller with his sister and no one cared.

We were at WDW the last two weeks of June with our grandson. He was 2 years, 9 months old at that time and 41 inches tall - a big guy! We had a copy of his birth certificate. During the 10 days we were there, no one ask his age. I would suggest that you take a stroller. It was very useful in the parks AND going to and from the parks and bus stops. Besides, you can carry many things in the bottom of the stroller.

We've made two trips to WDW when each of our kids were 2 1/2. We'll be doing so again in November when our 3rd child is 2 1/2. We've never had any problem at all.

Man there's so much to bring! A car seat, a stroller...I need to grow more arms!

Thanks for the help! I feel much more comfortable now. I hadn't even THOUGHT about the insurance card. That's a must to bring so we'll have that if we ever had trouble. :)

THANKS!!!

We were there just before our daughter's 3rd birthday and got charged for a buffet, but we just said she's not three yet and there was no problem, they took it off. Never had a question about admission. I also have a very, very tall 9 year old, but he'll turn ten next year before we go, so I'll be buying adult admission anyway. If we were going this year, I'd think about taking some proof - he is REALLY tall and old beyond his years. I've seen this question asked a lot about three year olds, but wonder if anyone has ever been questioned about a 9 year old.

I just got back with my 2 1/2 year old who is small for her age and she was never questioned at WDW, but at IOA they asked us how old she was when we came in and we said 2 years and they dropped it. But she is only 24lbs and they questioned her?! Just letting you know if you go over there!:)
