My family...me, dh, kids 7 and 8 are going to yellowstone next month.

Anything else in the area we need to check out?

When we went to Yellowstone we also went to Cody Wyoming for a rodeo. During that trip which was about 12 days we also went to Dinasaur National Park, The Badlands, Mt Rushmore, the pioneer museum in Nebraska. the Corn Palace in S Dakota and Devils towe. It was the most memorable vacation we have taken. Our kids were 8 and 11 at the time. I went to triple a and they helped me plan a route. Nancy

Lucky!

You will go to see the Tetons, won't you? Even if you don't go all the way to Jackson (which is a nice place, btw) you need to drive down and see the mountains. They are stunning!

My favorite parts about our yellowstone trip were not in Yellowstone at all! Loved Yellowstone Bear World (which is actually in Rexburg, ID), if you see the Tetons, definitely visit Jenny Lake and take the boat across the lake and hike to that beautiful waterfall--it's so worth it. And in Jackson Hole, go to the Bar J chuckwagon dinner show. That was my all time favorite thing we did. The Bar J Wranglers are a group of cowboy singers. They sing old cowboy songs in perfect harmony, they play great instruments, and they are SOOOOO funny. I've seen them several times, but only about 4 times there at Bar J Ranch. That's the best. And the food is really good!

You didnt say if you were driving or not so I will tell you what I would go see if I was driving from seattle to yellowstone. It is a wonderful drive you will love it if you go.

We like Glacier national park http://www.nps.gov/glac/ so we drive up to see it for a few days in northern MT and ID. Then we drive down to Yellowstone and enter at the north enterance. We lake to stay at the cabins at lake yellowstone as there are fewer tourists there and you are still in the park.

I also think that the Tetons and Jacksonville were good things to go see. In addition as a kid I liked the Buffalo Bill Historical Center http://www.bbhc.org/home/index_flash.cfm

Enjoy yourselves it is a wonderful area.

You must go see the Tetons. They are unbelievable. Absolutely magnificent!
