We live about a hours drive away from WDW and are AP holders, if you had this same situation, how many times would you go in a calendar year?

We live 90 minutes from DL, and we are AP holders there. We go at least once a month, sometimes twice. If we lived in FL with so many parks at WDW, I would book a single night (Saturday) at Pop Century once a month and do 2 or 3 parks over a weekend.

How much fun would that be???? :flower:

I could see going 2-3 times a month in your situation...and boy, wouldn't I LOVE to be in your situation! :Pinkbounc

We are 86 miles {about one and a half hours} away, and we go 3 or 4 times a month except during the summer months, so we have the Florida residents seasonal pass, waaay cheaper, and we are DVC members, so we stay over a lot, and thus do not need the free parking benefit of the AP pass.

Am I jealous of you or what!? I would go several times a month if I were in your situation. I am only 23 and I'm trying to convince DH to pack up and move to Florida but he wont :confused3

Oh Man! I would live there! My AP would be worn out and my fingerprints would be damaged by the finger scanners by the end of the year..... :rotfl:

How envious I am!! If I could move that close, I would literally be on :cloud9: :sunny: . If that was the case, I would try to go every weekend that something else wasn't going on. I would make sure that I was there for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know those days are very crowded :crowded: but I would just have to be there to have truly a magical holiday season.

:love: ::MickeyMo :love:

We live 5 minutes from WDW property (Celebration was developed by Disney and used to BE WDW property) and go a few times a week:) No, we are not sick of it at all. It takes us 7 minutes from my driveway to the AK parking lot.

We live about 20 minutes from Disney Property (Downtown Disney part of property). We are usually over there 3-4 times per month, but not always to go to the parks. We eat over there at the resorts at least once or twice a month. We also go to the movies at DTD and see some events at the House of Blues. We pretty much avoid the parks in the summer, in fact this year we're going to go with Seasonal APs because the parks are just too hot and crowded (esp this year!) in the summer anyway. We spend more time on property once Food and Wine fest starts, and lots of time over there during the holiday season! It's great. We love living in Florida. And believe it or not, there's lots of other things to do besides Disney :) Last year that first week after Labor Day we had an entire Disney Day and a few parks in one day. This year we're planning to do the same thing. We can't wait.....no lines, very few people. It's like having the place to yourself!

I have a 2nd house in Deltona (about 45 minutes away) and try to get to it once every couple of months for a week or so at a time. We have AP's for both WDW and Sea World/Busch Gardens and visit both frequently. Many times we have just decided late in the afternoon to head for Disney for a couple of hours.

If we lived there full time we would be there even more. My plans are to move there in about 3.5 years and I am looking for jobs now. If the perfect job comes up now, I'll move now. (anybody in the Orlando area looking for a Desktop Support / Network Administrator)

We have defintely got the most out of our AP's.

A little off topic, does Disney actually still own Celebration? I understand they sold the downtown area to an outside company and turned 100% control of the homeowners association to the homeowners, and no longer exert control over the residents. Any of this true?

My eyes are clouding over at the thought of living in Florida.....sigh

I have often dreamt of living there,WDW. Right on property!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . But reality prevents that..... money... pets. So if I lived in the area, I know I would go at least once a week.

But I do love living in the northwest, and am a wimp when if comes to humidity and bugs, so my once a year will have to sustain me till I retire and hit the road in my motor home(another dream of mine :cool1: :cool1: )

It takes me a half hour to get to most any WDW parking lot, and that's just the way we --uh huh -- like it. Uh huh uh huh :cool1: :rotfl2:
We seldom miss a weekend somewhere in WDW. But even die hard me passed last weekend. It was just too dang hot.

I think the original question should be: how many times would you GO HOME in a calendar year? :flower:

Yes, Disney did sell off the downtown and golf course. They still have a lot of offices here (DCL, Travel Co., Imagineering, Marketing, advertising, IT, food and beverage, etc.) and a mortgage/realty co.

DH and I have talked about this, especially every February when we want to move to FL. I think we would go at least once a month and would still want our week or two at the BCV.
