I went to the Magic Kingdom as a small child somewhere around 1980, before Epcot had even opened. Then about six years ago I went with my coworkers to Gay Days (we were from Vegas). Now that I've moved back home to the south (Tennessee), I've been dying to take my partner there ASAP. We've enjoyed Disneyland together three times, and I just wanted to show him all the greatness that is Walt Disney World.

So, almost obsessively, I've been doing research over the past month or so to figure out an incredibly affordable way to go ASAP. It's great how there are SO many different websites and forums like this one with tips! I knew I wanted to go in March instead of waiting until May or later when it's super hot and humid.

Today, I booked our hotel (Seralago) and flight (AirTran) on Priceline for six nights, plus Mears Transportation (just over $600 total for the two of us), so I'm quite excited at this point. Next week, we'll have the money to pay for park tickets and all our daily expenses while there.

I'm just debating, now, where to order my park tickets. Some sellers offer no specials, some offer one free day and some (like Priceline itself) offer 2 free days. Price-wise, among the places I've found, I'd get the best deal through Priceline. HOWEVER, I'm not sure how exactly I'll get the tickets. I'm 99% sure they're not mailing them to me. Does anyone know? I assume there's something I'll have to print out and take somewhere to the parks to exchange for them. If anyone knows, please share that info. :)

I see how most people online seem to plan their trips months, sometimes years, in advance. Doesn't anyone want to be spontaneous anymore? :) Or do those people just not have time to post about it? hehe

Hello, and welcome!!:woohoo:
While I'm sure it would be great to be spontaneous and just go to Disney on a whim, it's not always practical. :headache: Unless, of course, one has so much money that it's not an option...If that is the case, good for them!!
I didn't know you could order Disney tix from Priceline...That's news to me. But I would imagine you'd have to print out your ticket voucher, then take it to Guest Services at WDW. However, I would caution you to do some research to make sure those tix are legit before spending that much $$...
Good luck in your search! Keep us posted!

Well, I just completed a comparison of nine ticket sites (including Disney's own) and found numerous sellers of 4-day base tickets offering a free day, which turns out to be about $9 less than just buying a 5-day ticket directly from Disney. I can have them delivered to me UPS 2-day for about $13 or dropped off at my hotel for $11.50. I'm a bit leery about the hotel delivery. So once shipping is factored in, I'm really only saving around $8-9 (and probably the headache of standing in line) by not just buying them when we get to town. Decisions, decisions. :)

Check Undercover Tourists before committing to buying tickets from anyone else. The ONLY reason I didn't was because I'm a FL resident and my tickets are cheaper anyway, so I purchased from the Disney website.

They were among the sites I compared, and not only were they about $4 more than the other sites, their shipping was also higher. So, I would actually pay more than just buying at the gate.

Less than a week now until our trip, and we're excited!

I ended up ordering tickets from Undercover Tourist yesterday (5 days plus 1 free) since the MouseSavers discount code lowered them a few bucks. Paid for overnight shipping and had them today (along with a free lanyard to hold them, if I wish). We decided to go ahead and hit up Epcot for a few hours the night we arrive, since we have the extra day.

I've already loaded my iPhone with three WDW apps so I have wait times and other info at my fingertips (no need for the printed maps and showtimes unless I want them for souvenirs, which I will). Booked dining reservations at each park. Chose my days according to **************.net and confirmed those choices with TouringPlans.com.

I don't know how people did it back in the days before all these websites, phone apps, etc., existed. Carefully planning a trip to WDW can be a logistical nightmare, but well worth it I'm sure. :)

Today's the day! In the air now. Gonna land about a half hour early and gonna hit up Epcot for a while after we check in. Fun times!
