You go and have a good time and worry about it when you get back. But make sure DH files for Unemployment today or tomorrow!

I am in the same boat. I got "let go" a month ago and I am still leaving on the 19th. When I get back I will do the commando job search. But for now I am taking my son on the vacation I have been promising for so long.

Sorry to hear of your DH losing his job! It will get better.

Sorry to hear about that .. but at this point, go and have a good time. Then when you get back really go for it with the job search. Not much you can do for the moment...it will give you a chance to mentally prepare and be ready to hit it when you get back.

Yep happened to us also a few years back. We went anyway and enjoyed ourselves. We didn't splurge on everything that we would have but we still had a great time. I will tell you that my DH ended up with a Great job after that. Way better than the one he lost. So I hope the same for your DF.

I'm embarassed to say, but I am the QUEEN of going to WDW with a spouse who is "between contracts"! Since he is self-employed, there are no unemployment benefits. We have made trips in 12/98, 10/00, 11/02 and 4/05 under such conditions. I am toying with the idea of planning a trip for 6/06, but am afraid to mention it to any friends, as when the last 3 trips were planned his contract ended up being done within 2 weeks to 2 months of my booking the trip. In other words, they think this pixie is jinxed!

My advice is to be enjoy your trip. You might be somewhat conservative in what you spend, but make sure you still go to those very special places that your family does as a ritual.

I'll keep a good thought for you that "brighter days are JUST around the corner."
