Going to WDW for 1st time and staying at CBR any comments about it ?

We stayed there 2 years ago, and loved it. It was fairly quiet, very pretty. Everyone talks about how spread out it is - I didn't really think it was. It was about a 10 minute walk to Old Port Royale from our room (in Aruba) - however, we don't have kids quite yet :) The buses are pretty quick, and the stops didn't seem to be too far from any of the rooms. There's also an internal bus system around the resort, but we never used it.

Have fun!

We've stayed there a couple of times. It's very nicely themed (and we come from the Caribbean ourselves).

You'll check in at the 'Customs House', then you'll room will be in one of 5 areas, each named after a Caribbean Island: Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique and Trinidad (North and South). They surround a lake where you can rent boats. Each area has it's own bus stop, so you don't have to walk far to get on one.

Old Port Royale is the central area where you'll find the Food Court, shops and Main Pool. Each area also has its own individual quiet pool. The areas closer to Old Port Royale are Martinique and Trinidad North, but they are now 'Preferred' buildings and a room there will cost a little more. Besides that, the closest would be Jamaica, which is on the other side of the lake, via a footbridge. The farthest area is Trinidad South.

We loved it. Although you may find it spread out, it's very relaxed and beautifully themed.

We took our first family trip in September, 2005 and stayed at the CBR - and loved it! Our crew was 14, 12, 6 and 5 and they are all looking forward to staying there again this September.

We did pay extra for preferred rooms in Martinique, and I think it was worth it for us. We were very close to OPR and the main pool, and also close to the quiet pool and the bus stop.

We loved the theme and it was very peaceful!
