I saw the movie last night and all I have to say is: Go and see it! Seriously!
Daniel Craig has gotten quite a bit of bad press, especially after Brosnan was denied the role, but he was fantastic! The entire movie was fantastic and it really breathed new life into the franchise. I liked
Die Another Day, but it was getting to be a bit much, just too unbelieveable and corny. And whoever said Craig wasn't good looking...see the movie, it may very well change your mind.
I also loved the fact that
Casino Royale was sort of reinventing Bond...explaining how and why all the things we now know about him are. It has always seemed kind of strange that CR was the only Fleming book not made into a movie, especially being that it was the first Bond adventure.
FWIW, the torture scene was not that bad. Yes, he was naked, but it was dark and you couldn't see anything dirty...it was basically just an outline. And keep in mind, all the Brosnan films except for
Goldeneye, I believe, were PG-13, so I didn't expect much different from this one.
One last thing: it cracked me up toward the beginning of the movie when Bond gets his first car. I turned to my boyfriend and was just like, "Why the hell is Bond driving a Ford?" The kid sitting next to me said the same thing a minute later.

Not to worry though, as he gets a gorgeous Astin Martin later on.
