I'm fairly certain this is a popular question. We're going to be in WDW for a week in October and want to go to Universal for one day. The way I see it I have three options (maybe four).

1) Rent a car for the duration. This way we don't always need to depend on WDW transportation and we can go grocery shopping.
2) Rent a a car from the car care center for a day.
3) Take a cab
4) Use a car service

I'm just not sure of #3 or #4. What are the current costs for cabs R/T to Universal or a car service? Renting a car for the week seems to be a huge waste of money when I only need it for one day. Even with Priceline, you're talking around two and a quarter for the week. I'd be curious to hear from those who have done this, how they dealt with it.

Mears runs shuttle vans to Universal from WDW, we haven't used them in a few years but I believe I read here on the site that round trip is approx $20 per person (it was $16 per person the last time for us). You could always check Mears website and I'm sure you could get a price from there. Hope this helps.
