Hi -

I've never been to Universal - always gone to WDW and stayed there. So we thought we would venture out one day and go to Universal. We only have ONE DAY to do this. Both of us need a ticket for one day. My friend found that the tickets are $52 each for one day. Is this right? It just seems like a lot for one day - one park. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Ya, that's the price. It's the same as Disney's single day price. There are great deals to be found on multi-day tickets and annual passes but not singles.

Check with AAA if you are a member. They have discounted tickets, as well as a 1 day 2 park pass for about $69.

You'll be back, so your best bet is to get the 2 year deal with a Burger King coupon for $169. Must purchase by 09/15/03 and redeem by 09/30/03. Yes, alot of money to pay now, but then you're set for 2 years, and it is a good deal.

If that won't work, I'd stick with buying the single day ticket to IOA arriving to the gate early.
I wouldn't try the 2 park 1 day ticket unless you've been a few times. People who try this ticket usually arrive late at 11am, do a few rides at IOA waiting over an hour for each, then run out of time before they can do USF.

I'm quite surprised you feel $52 is a rip-off for a single day trip to a themepark...that's the average cost of a single day trip to the parks down here in Florida...from Universal Studios to Busch Gardens Tampa...and let me tell you, Universal Studios is more worth the $52 than Busch Gardens is.

But they do sell the one-day two-park passes, like someone already mentioned. Depends on what you are interested in. You'll have a blast at Universal (or IOA, whichever you choose).

PS - I wish I could take advantage of the 2-year pass...but shucks, I had just renewed my pass in March :( I don't want to lose half a year thanks to having to renew in September already! At least I will GET to renew though! :D
