Going to Tusker House for Breakfast

We have 8:15am reservations at AK. We're staying off property near downtown Disney area & traveling by car. Is it true the gates only open for resort busses at AK before the open? If so, should I be trying to get to a resort and go by bus. Seems a bit much. How else can we get to breakfast before open? It's not an early open day.

We always stay offsite and have never had any trouble with pre opening ADRs. I would have your confirmation number handy when you get to the booth.

Trouble is, the booth might not be open at all. For Animal Kingdom the Disney buses enter via a completely different route.

I suggest parking at All Star Music or All Star Movies and taking the bus from there. You'll have to get there early like an hour in advance to be sure you can get on a bus in time. Some esoteric instructions needed: tell the parking guard you are trying breakfast at the All Stars.

The policy is that the AK restaurants honor latecomers with breakfast reservations who were held up at the parking lot booth although it might be necessary to go back to Guest Relations to enforce it.

We have had 8am ADR's with park opening at 9am several times (at least 3) and have always arrived for breakfast on time. We drive and park. The lane on the far right at the parking lot entrance has a sign for buses to use that lane but it does not say buses only. We noticed this lane was not backed up like the others and used it during our last visit.

We have arrived at the parking lot entrance booths before they opened but they opened up with enough time for us to park, enter the AK park, and walk to breakfast and still arrive before 8am.

I have read a number of posts about the parking lot not being open early enough but it has not been a problem for us. I would not want to make breakfast any later than planned though because we want to head for the rides as early as possible and don't want to be eating breakfast while the rest of the park guests are enjoying short lines and getting fastpasses.
