Going to the World w/the Twins - pre trip

Hi Everyone...

Cast:

Me (31) Brought up Disney.. this will be my 16th Disney Themed vacation. we'll call me Pluto lover!
BF (29) Active Coast Guard hottie... last time he was there... 13.. not joking.. poor boy has got to get back there. Also.. he is going away for the whole summer, so this is a trip for me and the kids to spend time w/him before then. we'll call him Grumpy!
Twins: (5)
Girl and a Boy.. lover of all things Disney.. BF's children from a previous marriage. Cute as buttons! we'll call them Cindy and Buzz..

Ok..

about 2 mths ago.. Grumpy calls up from work.. and well.. wants to know if we can take his kids to Disney since he will be gone all summer.. and Cindy had a crying break down when she found out...

Pluto Lover: How long would you like to go for?
Grumpy: However long you think it would take for the kids to do everything that they would like..
Pluto Lover: Ummm.. ok.. 9 DAYS!!! ( he really has no idea what he has gotten himself into.. really!)

So.. w/that said.. i found airfare from Bos-MCO rdtrp $285/person.. booked that w/his credit card.. Then i called my DVC and inquired about rooms.. they only had OKW left.. fine w/me! 122 pts.. Told Grumpy he could just pay for my Air and food.. and i would pay for my pass (as am going to get an AP, since i already had plans to go down for July 4th weekend w/a GF Minnie)

Now.. Grumpy is active military.. we have decided to take a cab over to SOG to pick up the Stars and Stripes passes for 8 days for him and the kids.

I have made all the ressies... and the plans for the van service w/grocery stop... i have made autograph books for Cindy & Buzz.. as well as bought the glow necklasses off of EBay and light chaser toys from the Disney Store.. can you guess which ones?!?!? NO?? Cindy & Buzz of course..

Now.. I have been many times to the world.. i have been on 3 disney cruises.. and to Disneyland.. but i have NEVER taken children.. as i dont have any of my own... so i cant tell you how much i am looking forward to this!

I already have some of the luggage packed.. and just have a few errands to run tonight and tomorrow.. and then we are off on Sat 5/1-5/9....

As a side note.. we worked this out w/their mom.. Grumpy's exwife.. (not giving her a name) and she is providing all the necessary meds, clothes and shoes... as well as the permission slip... Grumpy almost blew this.. mental note.. dont get on exwife's bad side.. well.. at least not if your Grumpy..

So.. Grumpy has saved in 2 mths $2800.. that he is insisting that we need.. (oh.. did i mention that he wants to pay for the passes w/credit cards.. and that the cash is for everything else?? all the big stuff is out of the way.. air, hotel.. and well.. passes.. I am NOT eating that much food!)

Should also note.. that all my coworkers are thinking its a riot that i am taking 2 5 yr olds to Disney.. and that rather than me being annoying w/talking about my upcoming trip.. that i will be ANNOYED when i get back!!! and they laugh.. and say.. wait til you get down there w/those kids.. hahahaha...

also talked Grumpy into wearing those Mikey ears w/his name on it.. and getting Cindy & Buzz a pair as well.. and of course ME! everyone keeps saying.. poor Grumpy... he has no idea what he has gotten him self into!

Stay Tuned.. who will be laughing last?? I think me.. bc your worst day at DISNEY.. is still 100 times better than your BEST day at work!

Hello garnet73! I, too, am from the Boston area and just returned from Disney with my twin 5 year old girls. We had an amazing time!

Since you have 9 days, my advise would be to be sure to take a break in the afternoon. I heard so many people say that before we left and though, "we won't need to take a break". Was I wrong. We took a break and were we glad we did. The kids (me and my DH) were all rejuvinated when we went back out.

that is our plan so far.. we have parks scheduled by am and pm.. and in btw.. prob about noonish.. we planned on going back to the room.. and let the kids swim in the pool.. and then get them to lie down while we are getting ready.. that is why i booked 9 days.. so we wont feel rushed.. and we can take it slow.

i am glad that you had a great time.. my BF just called from work.. which he doesnt do often.. i think he is getting just as excited as me...

God we cant wait... we'll say hi to Mickey for you and the girls!
