Going to the park on Memorial Day

So my fiance and I are planning on going to the parks on the 30th and we wanted to hit up Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning. I looked at two different crowd calendars, and they both said MK would be in the red. Crowd calendars have been wrong in the past, at least in my experience. Does anyone have any personal experience of going on Memorial Day?

Memorial day is a very, very busy day. Its not uncommon at all for the MK to reach one of the phased closure stages during the day.

We don't go to MK on any holiday, they seem to be busier. I have read for years that MK tends to be the pick park for people on Monday, as they arrived on Sunday and want to start their trip at MK. Not to mention, by Memorial Day, a lot of schools are out for the summer.

Huh? Our family goes every memorial day weekend! While I agree that Saturday and Sunday are pretty busy, I have felt that Memorial Day Monday is pretty OK at Magic Kingdom! In fact, I can remember the past 2 years being at the MK and thinking it was not bad at all! The locals hit the parks on sat & sun, but head home Monday....
