hi,
i just recv'd my paperwork and am ready to sign for SSR with my use year
beginning in Nov. I am planning on going to SSR with wife and 3 yr old son
nov 13 thru nov 18. How is the weather this time of year and the Crowds/
park hours?

Thanks

We're also looking into buying (likely direct, given the costs of the non-SSR these days, as well as the rumor of SSR direct price going up in a few months, in which case if Disney ROFR'd a SSR contract, it might delay to the point we'd have to pay the new even higher direct price...)

Anyway, to comment on the OP:

If we bought now, would there even be much availability for Nov 2005 at this point, given that it's within the 7 month window now, and Nov is a "budget" possibly DVC peak season?

Congratulations to both of you on your decision. Since you're between the Food and Wine and Thanksgiving, I'm guessing that you'll be OK getting a ressie. However, if you want to be sure, your guide can help, just ask. We were buying in late August '03 and she checked for us and we weren't able to change our Halloween ressies from the Dolphin over to DVC. You will have to wait until MS is open for even your guide to find out for you, but I think you'll be OK.

We stayed at VWL on Nov. 14th, just one night after DCL cruise, and the weather was good enough for swimming on the 15th. We did have a brief downpour on Sunday afternoon. It was the last night of the F&W festival, but we didn't go into any parks, there were chalk artists at DTD, and we did some shopping.

PS. When you buy direct, you can make the ressies, right away!

Ijust booked for 11/13 thru 11/18 on Thursday of last week.(at SSR)
said no problem and looked as if the week was not nearly full.
Ms also stated that there were Bldgs Avail at SSR that they were not
even taking ressies on yet.

I think you should go thru DVC directly after looking at resale myself
it seemed like a much better idea with the current incentives DVC is
offering and also the cost of points is going up as of June 1.
DVC does have a pretty decent financing option(but eventually I will convert
what i owe to my Home Eq Loc).

November is a great month to go to WDW. Weather is still nice and warm but not too humid. Hopefuly you'll get reservations. I would bet that since you want SSR you'll be fine. Contrary to the opinions all over this board SSR will become an overflow property similiar to OKW. I doubt there will ever be a sold out period here. Maybe at the absolute peak season right before all the buildings are done. Other resorts have busy times throughout the year for various reasons. SSR doesn't have any of this. For example BWV & BCV are very hard to get during the Food and Wine Fest. VWL are very hard to get near the holidays. OKW doesn't have direct ties to any theme park just like SSR. OKW currently has the lowest occupancy rates of any DVC property. SSR will fall into the same category. I hope you have a great stay and enjoy SSR.

DAVE
