I think this is my 4th time, and I FINALLY know what the heck is going on in that show. The first time, I almost fell asleep because I couldn't follow it. Amazing how it grows on you.:D

I saw it 8-9 times during tis Broadway run.

There is a castle on a cloud
I like to go there in my sleep
aren't any floors for me to sweep
not in my castle on a cloud...

That is such a beautiful song.:D

do you hear the people sing? s
inging the song of angry men.
it is the music of a people who will not be slaves again.
when the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums
there is alife that's about to start when tomorrow comes.

I agree it is a great show. We saw it in Londons west end. I had to read the program several times to understand the story!! Great music though and great theatre. (DH has just put our DVD of it on!)

On my own, pretending he's beside me.
All alone, I walk with him till morning.
Without him I feel his arms around me.
And when I loose my way I close my eyes and he has found me.

Or

I dreamed a dream in time gone by,
when hope was high and life worth living.
I dreamed that love would never die,
I dreamed that god would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid,
When dreams were made and used and wasted.
There was no ransom to be paid,
No song unsung, no wine untasted

My niece's high school is doing this show for their spring musical. I've never seen it.

My high school were one of the first schools ever to do the school version. It is quite different and not as good IMHO, but still good to see for a school show.

I love Les Miz. I've seen it about 10 times. The music is incredible. Have a great time!

We just saw it 2 weeks ago here in Philadelphia with some friends. We were in the front row with the orchestra in front of us. It was a little to close, but actually, I followed it so much for the first time. It was my 3rd time seeing it. Its my DH's favorite.

Les Mis is my all time favorite:D Actually the book is a good read, albeit a little long.

Oh....but it's so sad too...made me cry! Couldn't handle that one more than once.

Hope you have a great time.

DH and I absolutely love Les Mis! ::yes::

Les Mis is my second favorite musical, right behind Rent. Les Mis is such a great show. The music, the staging, the story.

I was singing "On My Own" in the shower last night. It came out of nowhere but I had to pull the soundtrack out and listen to it!

I agree that front row orchestra is a bit close for Les Miz. My favorite seats for Les Miz are front row Mezzanine--you really get a great view of the stage from up there.

I agree Karen, front row mezzanine for Les Mis is the best! I live in NYC and for years Les Mis was on th 1/2 price ticket board. I think I saw it somewhere in the vicinity of 18 times during its run. I absolutely love the show. It ALWAYS made me cry....even though I knewwhat was going to happen. My favorite line from any show ever is the last line sung in the show( before the song reprise)......

" To love another person is to se the face of God."

I saw Les Mis on Broadway and loved it. I live in New York - and going to a Broadway show still is a thrill. I love it. Of course because I have the option to wait, I usually get first row.

Enjoy!!!!!!

OHHHH! I am going on Sunday to see Les Mis!! I can't wait, we are taking my 12 year old, to get him interested in the stage.

My little cousin was in the NYC show for a while(up till the last show), so we saw it a few times there too!

Just love the show...now you have me excited! :teeth:

I saw an incredible high school production of the show two years ago. Holy trinity, a local Catholic school with a very good theater arts program, staged the show -- with a lot of help from Cameron MacIntosh.
