Going to POR next week

We've never been before -- anything we should know? Luckily we are renting a car so won't have to worry about the bus. Is the pool nice, for active 8 and 10 year old girls? Is there a full service restaurant - and should we eat there, or go somewhere else?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

the swimming pool is fine.

I like the restuarant - although LOVE the food court. the restuarant only services breakfast and dinner. if you plan to eat here - especially for dinner you need to make ADR. It stays pretty busy.

Pool-ok, short but fun slide.

Restaurant-never ate there, but fancy menu.

Food Court-awesome. great food etc.

It's one of our favorites, the pool is nice. It's set up like on old water hole, with a slide, that looks like it was made from junk. There's lots of shady places to relax. There's a fishing hole, for less than 10.00. You can rent a carriage ride, or ride a boat to DTD.

The food court is very good, the gift shop is huge. If you are in a building that is not close to the food court just drive your car to the main area, leave it there to eat, catch the bus and when you get back you can drive your car to your room.

Go to the bar and have a drink, the bartender Gray is a good friend of ours and he makes the best cocktails.

Stayed there over Thanksgiving a few years ago. The food court was...the typical food court breakfast. WAY too many eggs for my taste. Why does EVERYTHING have to have eggs with it???

And even over that holiday, we had no problem with the bus system. Sis would meet us at the food court every morning and leave her car there for the day. Too much of a hassle to drive around. LOL.
