Going to MK on Disney After Hours Day

Right now, our tentative schedule has us going to MK on a Disney After Hours Day. We're not going to buy tickets for that, so I'm wondering how that could change our experience. Does it tend to be more crowded on those days, especially after those with tickets are allowed in? What happens when the park closes? The website says the park closes at 9, but the After Hours event doesn't start until 9. What goes on in that hour? Should we try to go on a different day? We'd love to go on an EMH day but unfortunately, MK doesn't have any EMH while we're staying there.

No, the mk is not more than crowded.
The event is after the park closes at its regular time, plus the event is limited in attendance. Guest of the event are allowed into the park early at 7 pm to view the fireworks. The park will close as normal at 9 pm to day guests, while event guests will begin their event. Event guests will be given wristbands and those without wristbands wont be allowed on rides etc. Same protocols the xmas and Halloween parties.
