Going to Florida and NOT going to WDW

I am not happy to say... we have a trip to USO/IOA staying at the Portofino planned for Sept. this year.. we have no plans to go to WDW except a shopping trip "downtown".

I will feel AWFUL being so close, and not driving through that gate !!!

While we have never not visited WDW we do usually spend two weeks in Florida and one week is filled with other parks or things to do we love going to Gatorland everytime we visit Florida!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

I think once you experience Portofino and UO, that "AWFUL" feeling will go away. Just go in with an open mind, remembering that Disney does not run the entire world, just their happy little part of it .

It's not that I wouldn't want to do WDW but I wouldn't be able to repeat what we did last year and I think it is hard to go from staying at a 2 BR villa to getting two rooms at a less expensive resort. We ate like kings and queens as well. To go back to WDW so soon and not to do it the same would be difficult. We totally enjoyed HRH and US/IOA and found it to be a more "relaxing" vacation than Disney for us.
