I am taking my family (Wife, 2 year old daughter, and father in law is coming as well) to Disneyland next week Jan 13th-17th (we will be in the park Fri, Sat, Sun to be exact). We are staying at the motel 6 anaheim maingate and I was wondering if anyone has stayed there before and what they thought? I have read mixed reviews of the place. Im not expecting alot as I only intend to sleep and shower there but would still like hear opinions of people on here.

Also what is the best disney character breakfast to go to for my 2 year old? I was looking at PCH grill breakfast buffet. Is that worth the price? My daughter LOVES Mickey and Minnie. She loves the other characters as well but Mickey and minnie are her favorites. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Just to round out your list: My boys always enjoy Goofy's Kitchen at the DLH. Mickey is not there though, and I have also heard Goofy's has temporarily relocated to the DLH ballroom and isn't quite the same. The Storyteller's breakfast at GCH was enjoyable, but most of the characters are not real recognizable to really young children. Chip and Dale are the most recognizable, but you will probably run into them all over the parks. Ariel's Grotto does a princess breakfast at DCA.

We have been to the PCH Grill character breakfast when it was the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. It is now Mickey's Surf's Up. The good news is that Mickey is always supposed to be there. If the rest of the experience is similar to before, then you will probably also see 3-4 other characters. I remember there not being a whole lot of characters, but the ones who were there were very attentive to us. The place wasn't really very busy, so no crowding for food or vying for attention with wait staff or characters. The food was fine. You have the option of ordering buffet or off the menu. We enjoyed the experience the one time we did it. I would say that it is a bit of a trek though just to get to breakfast if you aren't staying at a DLR hotel.

We have not tried Minnie's breakfast yet, but my brother went in September with his wife and 1 1/2 year old daughter. He went on and on about what a fantastic experience it was. He said the food was just ok, but the number of characters and the interactions with his daughter were fabulous. He said it was totally worth the money, and if he could have managed it, he would have taken her twice. I know every time we walk past the Plaza Inn during Minnie's breakfast (it's at the end of Main Street in Disneyland) we see lots of characters visiting with diners, and I have read here that Minnie's is the place to go for seeing the most characters.

Take your DD to Minnie & Friends in DLR or to Ariel's Grotto in DCA. They are both a lot of fun, have good food choices and good character interaction. At least ime they do. :) I would suggest M & F due to the huge number of characters we saw and how much they actually played with us at our table. The food at M&F is good, we enjoyed the variety very much. Ariel's Grotto I really suggest for lunch, the choices at lunch are better then the breakfast (we've done lunch, dinner & bfast there. I suggest lunch because right now dinner is for World of Color priority viewing so no Princesses, the menu is the same for lunch & dinner) and the Princesses have always been great to us. :) Good luck with whatever you chose!

Thanks for the replies. I thought I had heard there was a Minnies breakfast but couldnt find it at first. I thought it was in one of the hotels. I didnt realize it was IN DL. Thanks for that, I think I will try that one.

Anyone know about the motel 6 Anaheim maingate?

And how crowded should I expect it to be that weekend with it being a 3 day weekend and all?

If she LOVES Mickey, make sure to go through Mickey's house in Toontown. You get to meet Mickey and have a photo op with him at the end!

We'll be there those same days!
