Hi all!

As a surprise Christmas present, my dearest friend got me a airline ticket to join her in Paris for a week beginning Dec. 28. While in Paris, I've just got to go to DLP for a day. :teeth:

I have a few questions for all of you DLP experts out there:

Will it be safe to ride the RER train from Paris to DLP by myself? I doubt my friend will join me as she is not much into Disney (for shame!). Is it safe to be in the DLP area after dark by myself? I'll probably plan on being back at my hotel in Paris around 10pm.

I don't speak the French language, unfortunately. Will this be a problem? I can smile and say "bonjour" and "merci beaucoup" :teeth:

Any tips or suggestions for a single visitor? I know it would be much more fun to share the experience with others but I'll take what I can get.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I can't help very much but I know that not speaking French isn't a huge problem. My French is awful but I manage to get by with a few 'bonjours'.:rotfl:

At least if you are on your own, you get to do exactly what you want!

Your friend is very generous. Couldn't you persuade him/her to go along for a bit of fine dining as a treat?

I hope you enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

The RER is just like any other suburban railway, we used it for our daytrip to DLP in June. We were staying near Gare Du Nord, travelled out at 8am and returned after 11pm. No problems either direction either on the train or at ticket offices. DLP after dark is perfecty safe, my eldest (21) has a wander around the village etc after park closing without trouble. If you mean Bussy, then it is deserted after dark and IMO not worth a visit (typical commuter town). We stayed there for Halloween, again no problems.

None of us speak french with any authority, just the basics. Everyone we've spoken to helps with english when required.

I'd also recommend you take your friend along - Disney is much better shared.

I agree ~ DLRP has some lovely table service restauarants so see if that helps persuade her.

She's been to DLP before; so have I when it was EuroDisney. I was with a group of people, we had our own transportation and we had some people with us who spoke French. Actually, I've been to Paris five times so I've seen a lot of it before. I love it! I can't wait to go back but I also want to try to sneak in DLP if I can.

She has NO DESIRE to go back to DLP right now. I'm actually arriving into Paris a day earlier than she is so I thought that I could go to DLP the day after I arrive and while she is in transit. She won't want to do much on the day she arrives anyway so I thought it would be a good time to sneak away. Plus, she can't understand why I would want to go to DLP now - especially since I will be going to WDW 2 days after I get back for the marathon weekend. She just doesn't understand that it's not the same thing. ;)

Now, I just had an idea. I might want to go for New Year's Day instead of Monday, Dec. 29. There might not be much open in Paris on New Year's day. That might be the best time to go. Maybe? Oh, this is getting complicated.

If you get there early on New Years day it might be a lot quieter.
We were there on 29th last year and it was very very busy

whereas most people will have been up late the night before so it should be reasonably quiet early on 1st Jan

Hey escape,

Let me know what your experience is-my family is going bout the same time you are next year and I'd love to know what you decide and what your experience is...I have a post a little above....

Good luck....:thumbsup2
