We live in Florida and thinking of visiting Disneyland for the first time. My questions are, how many days do we need to visit both parks and what else is there to do. We would be arriving on Sunday and leaving on Friday. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello!

My opinion is 3 days max is enough. We actually did 2.5 both times we went and pretty much saw everything. CA Adventures isn't that big and it doesn't take long to get through everything. But you do want to see World of Color at CA Adventures which is at night and the fireworks at Disneyland so that is why I would say definitely 2 nights.

The benefit to being there longer is seeing more shows and such. Some shows only show on certain days (like Aladdin at CA Ad) so you can fill up your days making sure you see the shows you want.

Enjoy!

When were you thinking of going? If you can wait until next year, all of the major rennovations will be finished and a whole new land in California Adventure (Cars Land) wlll be open next summer (2012).

This question believe it or not is not very specific.

I would read this thread.
DLR guide for WDW vets.

Also for DL question like this, you might want to post them on the Disneland board you will get quicker responses.

I would suggest 4 days. 3 days is enough but with an extra day, you won’t be rushing to see everything; you can take it easy, do things at a comfortable pace so that you really feel like you’re on vacation.

Thank you for the DLR link. I actually thought I posted my question within the DLR forum but I guess not :confused3:confused3:confused3. Thanks again.

This board is more for planning trips around the West or Southern California. Things about Las Vegas, San Fransisco, Highway 1, the National Parks..... The main DL board is more about things specific to visiting DL. Things about park hours, attractions, area hotels......

- What are the dates? (or at least the month)

- Where do you stay at WDW? (The GF? Pop?....or a Mod)

- What do you like to do (or how do you like tour) WDW? (Commandos? or Smell the Roses type folks.)

- Any kids? What ages?

You'll need 4 days minimum to do it right.....5 would be better. (The WDW posters at the top of the thread who say 2.5 days haven't been there in a while. Either that or they skipped most of the shows, nightly events & parades.)

Read Hydroguy's & Mary Jo's Tip threads & then post back.

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park.

:)

Have to agree with hound, we do 5-6 days to get everything in. We do not for the most part skip rides, not do shows and we always take mid-day breaks during the summer. I am sure if you leave half the attractions off, 2 day would work fine for both parks. Hope you have a great time.

I think it all depends on how busy it is when you go. We went last Nov.during Rememberance Day weekend ( Veteran's Day for USA) and the park was quite crowded. We had 2.5 days to do both parks and it simply wasn't enough time. We spent a lot of time in lines - even with fastpasses and did not get to all shows or rides. We tried to hit the high spots but still didn't get to "do it all". I would definately encourage you to do 3 - 4 days for sure. I guess the bonus with not "doing it all" is we are going on a second trip in July to accomplish this!! Not all bad then!!LOL!

I have to agree that it depends on when you are thinking of going. If you go during summer or a holiday weekend you will definitely be needing more time. The lines can be CRAZY long and if you only have a minimal amount of time you might end up missing some fun things. It also depends on what you want to do on your trip. If you're going during the busy season and you want to make sure you get the most out of the trip defintely 4-5 days. Especially if you don't get to go often. I hate being rushed so that would work out perfectly for me! If you are going during an off time you should be able to get a lot done but I'd still say at least 3 days.
