We are planning to be in Anaheim, San Diego and probably tour at least one Movie Studio in late July 2015.

Any recommendations re preparing for the weather etc. We are from the East Coast of Canada, and our average summer temp is 75 to 90 degrees and humid.

Also we are veteran WDW visitors, but will be newbies in DL. Any tips for what to expect the second last week of July. Finally, we have a very nice deal with the Holiday Inn and Suites on Walnut. What can anyone tell me about it. We have been looking at the "top five" that many people have posted on in the boards, and although they really seem excellent they can't match the price we have at Holiday Inn

Thanks

HydroGuy also has a thread that contains Detailed Weather Data for DLR. In general DLR doesn't get humid or even much moister at all in July. If anything, it should be warm and dry.

July is the height of the summer season at DLR, which means long operating hours and full entertainment schedules. It also means large crowds. Disneyland's 60th Anniversary is on Friday, July 17. The parks are likely to be very busy that weekend, with some potential spill over into the following week. I would go expecting high crowds, just so you aren't caught un-prepared.

As veteran WDW visitors, I also recommend checking out HydroGuy's DLR Guide for WDW Vets, which will help put things into context.

In late July it will likely be 90 to 100 degrees and dry but sometimes it will cool off to the mid to upper 80s. With all of the concrete, structures and people around Disneyland it tends to be feel hotter than the posted temps. Go early every day. This winter in southern California has been very mild so I fear what the summer may bring.

San Diego's weather, when you are downtown or near the coast, is usually much cooler than Anaheim and very pleasant. The Zoo, Seaworld, Lego Land are very popular with tourist and locals. The wild animal safari park in Escondido, although it is fantastic, it is often very hot in the summer and you might want to avoid it.

Thanks for the tips. We are thinking that due to the 60th anniversary on the 17th, that we would do the San Diego Zoo (gotta see the Pandas!) and tour MGM studios first. I do wonder if any shows are being taped in Disney Studios at that time which have a live audience, I understand that's about the only guaranteed way to get in. Then go to DL towards the following weekend.

Just wanted to add that sometimes it can get a little chilly in the evenings and early mornings. I always bring a light sweater. At WDW in June, I never needed it even at 11pm. At DLR in July, it's likely I will, but not always. July is our favorite month to go. Long hours, nice weather, and pretty much all shows and attractions up and in full swing.

Is there only one restaurant that has a dining package for World of Colour? How about Fantasmic? Thanks for tip for cool weather, what is considered cool at night in July?
