Backstory: My wife and I have gone to WDW once a year for 4 out of the last 5 years. I don't remember who initiated the first trip but I definitely initiated the rest of them. In 2009 we bought a DVC membership and made a trip to Disneyland in 2010. Again, all initiated by me. My wife likes Disney but sometimes reminds me that she would also like to go other places (I do too but I'll always pick Disney if given the option).

Last year we planned a December trip to see the Christmas decorations but had to switch it to October (our 2nd year in a row) when my wife became pregnant with our first child. She was very excited at the prospect of seeing the Gin Blossoms perform at Epcot but was heartbroken when she learned the website she got the concert info from had the wrong dates.

Fast forward to this year. We scheduled an 11 day trip in December. My wife said she didn't want to take a 1-year old on an airplane so we are driving down and making a 2 night stop at Hilton Head Island.

One of the things we loved about October was the Food and Wine Festival. When I told her about the new Vegan offerings this year (She's a vegetarian) she was slightly disappointed that we wouldn't be there. Then she started looking at more F&W info and saw that the Gin Blossoms were again playing and started dropping hints about an extended weekend in Florida in that "I'm joking, but I'm not; we can't do this, but we can" tone. My wife, who didn't want to take a 1-yr old on a plane, is now willing to take a 10 month old on one.

The next day, I'm on the DVC website booking 3 nights at Saratoga Springs Resort. My wife is jumping up and down clapping. She then turns to me and says "Look what you've done to me".
