My DH, 11 yr. old DD, and I are going to Disney World for the first time next month.:cool1: We will be there for 10 days. I am a photo taking fanatic, so what are the MUST HAVE photos? We will have the parkhopper passes and will be going to all of the parks. THANKS!

Wow that is some kind of open ended question. It all depends on you, your family, your tastes, and how much photography they will let you get away with. :thumbsup2 Definately be ready for the first time you child sees the castle. That might not be such a big deal looking at her age, but you never know. Look around at some of the pics in this board, and you will get a load of great ideas. Gdad has some awesome ones, UKCatFan has some great pics also. This board is loaded with great people to get ideas from.

Wow, its good we're in the digital age. You may come back with thousands. Bring an extra memory card or two and maybe carry along a spare battery(ies).

The obvious ones are the "icon" shots - castle at MK, Spaceship Earth at Epcot, Tree of Life and Everest at AK. You'll find hundreds of photoworthy shots; just about any direction you turn, anytime. I'd say the main thing to do is get your 11 yr DD in as many as you can.

There are also a bunch of photo spots posted around the parks. THey're always good ones...I would think there would be a list of them somewhere, but I have no clue where.

I'm well prepared in the camera dept. I have a Canon Rebel XSi, 2 spare batteries, and 3 16GB memory cards, may pick up a couple more memory cards before we go just to be sure;). I will check out the members ya'll listed. I'm very impressed with this site, it looks like it will be a wealth of info. I was refered here by many members at 2peasinabucket as the best Disney board. Thanks!

Well, if the number of pics is no option - - -

At MK - the obvious are the castle ( both day and night shots ), the fireworks, the parades, the Mickey Head at the entrance of the park. Also, there are bronze statues throughout Main Street ( beginnning and end ). Inside the Kodak shop on Main Street at the front of the park, in the back hallway, they have some cool cut outs that you can pose with. If you want just the basics, stick with the Kodak Photospots.

At Epcot - aside from Spaceship Earth, I like to have my pic taken at each land. So many good spots!

At MGM - the hat and Star Tours have some great shots. You can also get some great photos at Indy's Stunt Show. Be sure to visit the 'alley' between the stadium and the Indy shop for some fun shops.

At AK - tree of life, Camp Minnie and Mickey, DeVine, EE, all the animals. TONS of photo ops here.

And of course, any place a Disney photographer may be. There's usually some great shots there too.

If it is your first trip ever, just keep shooting! Each park map will have a kodak photo spot. At least I think they are still in there!!!!

There is so much visual things going on and your eyes will be seeing it for the first time, just have fun.

For those of us that go often, we then get into the details that are amazing as well. But if it is your first time just catch the sites and the wonderment on the kids (your daughter and husband) and your face!

Don't forget about using photopass. They can get some good family pictures. The main picture I would most definitely get is the castle. Take plenty of your dd and family pictures in front of it, day and night. I think I have pictures of everything that will stand still at Disney and then some that want.:rotfl:

Thanks!!! I am also a big detail photo taker. My MIL who went 2 years ago with BIL and his family says it will take me the whole vacation just to take photos since I take so many and since I love detail shots also.

I've been checking out the not your average tourist photos thread, IT IS AWESOME!!!!!:worship: I can't wait for our trip and to start taking photos, I take TONS of photos to begin with, but I've been inspired even more by that thread. I'm going to have to get a few more memory cards, the big ones.:yay: I will be sure to come back to the board and post some after we get back, it may take me a while since I have crappy dial-up, may just have to go into town and use the computer at the library like I am today.
