Going to Disney!!!!!...Without me.

My mom just told me yesterday that she booked a trip to disney in two weeks. But I'm not going with her.

She's going with her friend and I'm not coming with them...Now I'm not selfish or spoiled or anything, it's just that disney is like me and my mom's thing. Really the only thing we have in common so I'm just kind of hurt that she just sprung it on me now that she's going in two weeks without me...

Ok vent over.

But would this bother you at all??

Yea, I'd be upset too. Since it's like 'your thing' to do together, it would have at least been better if your mom talked to you about it before she actually booked the trip.

Yeah that would bother me too.
I have been asked to go to Disney multiple times with my friends and their families but my mom has always said no because its our 'family thing to do together' and she feels it would be unfair if one go to go without the other two kids.

I'd be really annoyed lol. But, just think in years time, you'll be going to Disney with friends or future family or whatever, then your mother will be complaining

she's done it before too...

i mean last time though it was fine because i was going on a band trip with just my friends and she didn't go for that either and she went by herself

but this time like we're all going as a family in august so i'm just a little hurt that she still wants to go by herself

I don't care anymore.
My parents were away for 3 weeks this past spring, one of them being in Disney, and sure I was jealous, but I dealed. It's not a problem, because my brother didn't go either.
They're planning another trip without me in 2010. Their excuse is 'Who's going to Europe on March break?'
The only difference, is I'm paying for Europe, not them.

Ah well, just gotta deal. I haven't spoken to them about it. Most of the reasoning for me not going, is that my brother can't go./

I don't think it would bother me... my mom should be able to take vacations with out me if she wants, she did it all the time. It's more relaxing that way.
