Going to Disney with two little ones just me???

Sounds like a good plan.

Are you driving down, or will you have a rental car? If so, consider the following:

If you are bringing your own stroller, do MK only on the days you are staying at the Poly. I love MK, especially at this age, but travelling on the parking lot tram and then the boat/monorail with a double stroller is impossible for one adult holding onto 2 kids. The monorail from the Poly makes getting to MK with your stroller, kids, and diaper bag much more manageable. For the other 3 parks, get there before opening time so that you are within walking distance of the main gate.

Another thing, as mentioned by a few other posters, transferring to another hotel can get stressful. But one thing that can help is asking Bell Services at the Poly to transfer your luggage to All Star Movies for you. It can take several hours, however, so be sure to have a day bag packed for the transition time.

you can do it! I made a solo trip when the kids were 1 and 4, and I really think it was one of the best trips of our dozen or so disney trips. it will be just fine if you go with the right attitude-you and the kids are a team, and you can't do everything, but you are there to have a good time. good luck!

Go and have fun!!!! Shower???? I take my little ones in with me. I stand at the back of the shower and wash first. The little ones stand in front of me and then I wash them. We all shower together and then you have them with you and don't have to worry about them. If you have to go to the bathroom. Have the little one in her pack'n play while you get ready. I have traveled a few times to places with my three kids by myself. It would be easier with a helpful adult but sometimes its nice not to have to consider another adult. We can do whatever we want. It's fun.

I just returned today from Disney World. I went alone (DH could not get off work) and took our 3 kids. They are 2, 4 & 6 years old. Am I crazy? Sure! But did we have fun? Heck yay!

We flew, rented a van and brought our double stroller.

The kids did get very tired between 12 & 2 each afternoon. We took a break (usually 2 hours) in our hotel room. After the break they were always ready to have more fun.

This was our 3rd trip without DH, but the 1st one with kid #3.

And showers ... I took them at night after all the kids had fallen asleep.

Hi!! WOW what support!!! Here are some replies to all your posts: as for showers they do take them with me as of now. If they didn't they'd be fine in the room, they are not escapee type kids lol. I sold my double stroller at a rummage when Hailey was one I hated it lol. too big and bulky. I have a stroller that totally reclines and Paige and Hailey fit into it. we use it for long day trips where we know they will be tired. My girls are extremely patient. Last year Paige waited and hour and half to have a horse drawn on her face. lol. This year hailey Paige and I waited an hour for two little balloon animals yikes! lol. So as long as I keep them focused on why we are waiting they do so good! I really took the not switching rooms suggestions to heart, so I have decided that the Wilderness lodge is closer to things and will cost the same $1400 for the week as the poly and movies hotel without the BIG room switch hassle. I also like the suggestion of eating at Ohana then we can visit the poly! Oh were doing a Luau show, I was pulled up on stage about half the time growing up not that they'll get to do that but it's memory! Oh as for going to the bathroom they all go in my stall, if for some reason Paige the older one doesn't she has to stand outside my door and sing me a song lol. I think in disney she's going in no matter what. Also I'm pretty used to planning ahead like we won't be waiting in an hour line without using the potty first and if Hailey's potty trained she'd be newly trained and will wear pullups. I'm glad someone mentioned Hailey will eat free in the buffet's that's a GREAT idea!!! thanks!!! I am actually very confident in my ability to take the kids myself and have them safe, I had a very very overcautious mom and am just as bad lol. Swimming everything we do together now without any problems. Like Paige jumps in and swims to me, while Hailey sits on the edge. hailey stays there doesn't run away. they are good girls. plus i never get far enough away i can still see them both. ok I have one more question before I go on with all this planning. On rides such as peter pan, mr toad's, dumbo, etc. can we ride three together?? Also is there any babysitting services in disney that will take a little one like Hailey will be. I noticed the wilderness was age 4. I just thought then Paige and I could go do splash mountain, and get a picture coming down. I'm trying to think if I addressed all the questions raised?!! Oh we tried to recruit my mom but they are going to disney the next month and hawaii in sept. so they just can't do another trip. Also I'm not sure I want the responsibility of three extra people if I took my 12 year old niece. I mean I'm sure she'd be a big help but that's one more for me to keep track of you know?? I asked my friend but she found out she's pregnant and due the next month! actually most of my friend's are ttc. One of these posts made me all choked up I forget who you were now, but it was just sooooooooo uplifting for me and really boosted my confidence even more thanks a million!!! Hey thought of one more thing. we are flying down, I won't do anything BUT a nonstop even if i was flying alone lol. I want to go out of Milwaukee and not chicago since I know Milwaukee's layout much better. Haven't flown into orlando for awhile, but my grandparent's will be on the receiving end for us since we are staying there for a week before our disney trip! Oh they are driving us to our disney hotel too, which is good so I can buy snacks/water before we head in!

I remembered one more thing. as for the buffet's we actually go to one here every friday its like our thing and the girls like the choices. They get up to get their food with me, anyone needs more we all get up. Usually we get the girls plates first put them on the table to cool, then we get mine. I actually usually sit by the drink machines in a buffet since we run out of that more often. Although I suppose in disney the waiters bring your drinks? wow after looking at all this I guess I'm a pretty safe momma.

Great idea! You will love Wilderness Lodge! The boat ride is terrific for getting to MK. The girls will not be able to ride in their stroller onto the boat, however, so be prepared to fold it up. But you will really enjoy all the amenities of a Deluxe resort. Be sure to eat at least one meal in Whispering Canyon (the restaurant in WL's lobby)!

On rides such as peter pan, mr toad's, dumbo, etc. can we ride three together?? Also is there any babysitting services in disney that will take a little one like Hailey will be. I noticed the wilderness was age 4.

Riding together will not be a problem. You should all be able to fit into one car without any difficulties if the girls are average size for their ages.

The Wilderness Lodge babysitting service will probably not suit your purposes. It is an evening activity program located at the Wilderness Lodge just for kids 4 years and older. There are some in-room babysitters in the Orlando area who will watch younger children, but it's probably not worth the hassle and expense just for one photo of you and your oldest daughter on one ride. Even though I love Splash Mountain and totally understand where you're coming from, I wouldn't do it. The only alternative I can think of is that some (non-Disney) Orlando-area babysitters will accompany you to the park. Unfortunately, I have no experience and don't even know the names of any that would do this. I'd imagine it to be pretty expensive, however.

By the way, I'll be going it alone next month. I made my reservations at OKW for Aug. 21-25. I'm a little nervous, but terribly excited. One thing I worry about is the fact that I plan to do mostly counter service to save $. I'm not sure about managing a tray while carrying a young, squirmy toddler and keeping my preschooler in close proximity. Any suggestions?
