I will be in Orlando on the 11th of July. We plan on visiting for 7 days. Last year I recieved a promotion for Vistana thru TUG and really enjoyed it. This year I am not so sure where to stay. I would love to stay on Disney property but I know that we can't afford to . I don't mind sitting thru a timeshare tour but I would love to find out how to locate the best deals. Any ideas on good timeshare resorts, or a method of staying on Disney property for a decent rate.?

Rather than doing a timeshare and having to sit through the sales meeting, why not rent a condo or house? http://www.ClosestToDisney.com has 2-bedroom condos for $89/nite for a 7-nite stay in July. Also check http://www.vrbo.com and http://www.windsor-palms-resort.com/. There are lots of great places to stay that don't involve the timeshare route.

As for onsite - why? You can get so much more space and far greater amenities offsite for lots less money.

Try www.hotelkingdom.com They usually offer great rates, including timeshare rates.

I'm not sure how you define decent rate. I believe the 11th (not 100% positive) would be considered value season for some of the resorts at Disney. If they release discount codes you may be able to get an on-site resort for a reasonable price. Keep checking www.mousesavers.com for discount codes.

I agree with DisneySteve though, stay off-site and enjoy the spacious accommodations. It's better than squeezing into a value or moderate resort :)

Why don't you go back to the TUG site and go to their classified ads and see about renting a unit at Vistana. Or another time share in Orlando.

I agree with the previous poster, why stay in a room on property when you can get a 2BR 2BA for less money and save even more money by eating breakfast in your unit.

gotta agree with the troops here

why a small hotel room even if it is on property when a house or condo gives you so much more space and a full kitchen
the money we save on food and meals every vacation is amazing

what ever you decide have a wonderful time:D

how long are you staying - if a week or close to it (5 or 6 days) then

www.skyauction.com

just don't bid on Orange Lake or Visitana - but Silver Lake, HGV (Hilition Grand Vacation Club), and most of the others

I take that back there is a 1-bedroom right now for Vistana - prices at $32 you also have to pay $195 fee and $15 reservation fee - these are from RCI -

the bid I am talking about ends today at 2:00pm EDT

there are generally several to choose from

to get to these without looking through everything - just click on Florida - then click on hotels.

We would stay at Allstars for whatever it is going for ($59, $79, $99?) before anything off site, the kids hated a house (we have one at home), nothing to do and drive to everything. We are in DVC though so we get quite a few "deluxe" trips out of our system though. Florida is all good, but on site is best in our opinion.
