You'll enjoy wherever you stay because Disney is a magical place. My first time was 1/2002 then we had to go right back 9/2002 we had so much fun. Then we had to save more money to give to Mickey
so we are doing our double digit countdown for March.
We stayed deluxe the first time (Boardwalk Inn-BWI) in value season with a code we learned from Mousesavers.com for $174 a nite. Fabulous trip!
We had a standard view which included a large balcony, a view of the Epcot Illuminations fireworks (which we only saw once from there because we were right under them in Epcot 2 other times and elsewhere thereafter).
Second time we stayed at the All Stars Music. Which we enjoyed. Different ambience- we were mostly in the parks but it was a good comfortable room with neat theming (BWI was more subtle but there were still hidden Mickeys to be found-mouse ears in patterns of fabric, rugs or wallpaper, even topiary).
Read the boards- you'll get a lot of good information. It's best to make general plans for what you'll do but be open to breaking them. But if you want sit down restaurant service- make a PS before hand. We mostly ate a good breakfast and a large late lunch (same food, better price) then ate lightly for dinner.
Because you're just adults you can take the time to soak up the magic. Look around you whether at the resorts or parks. Look at details of the buildings. Find someplace to sit and people watch. Decide whether you want length of stay passes or park hoppers. Our first time we had length of stay and we felt we had to go to the parks everyday for at least a couple of hours. Whereas with park hoppers you can enjoy your resort and skip the park because unused days never expire. If you're budget conscious you can buy the one day/one park tickets for up to 3 days. It will allow you to visit one park unlimited times in a day. We did that our second short trip and it worked out fine.
What ever you do: Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!
