I haven't been to Disney in 20 years and have decided to go next Jan with my husband and 20 yr old son who have never been there.

Things I really want to do

I want to stay on disney property-the hotel with the anemals walking around looks really cool!

the dolphins... I want to get up close to them

Maybe Winterhaven for my men who are both baseball nuts?

Am I crazy to think Disney would totally rock at my age?

I am older than you and I love it!!!

AKL is a very nice hotel.

disney has baseball at Wide World of Sports not to mention Osceloa stadium in Kissimmee.

disney and SeaWorld both have dolphins.

SW dolphins you can pet at SW.

you can only swim with them at Discover Cove (much more expensive).

get a birthday pin at guest services in the park.

have a happy birthday!!!

I see that you're pretty new to the Disboards. Read as much as you can, because being a newbie you will need to know all the tips that the Disboards has to offer. I cannot stress that enough. I just had 2 people go at work who had never been there and they were SSOOO glad that they were knowledgeable before thay left. It's amazing the stuff that we Diser's take for granted that most newbies don't know about.
I just went down for my birthday and I'm older than you and am already planning another trip. If you're in the Southwest Airlines flight path be sure to sign up for Dings. Just today they had a Ding from Chicago to Orlando for $50.00 each way!!
Welcome to the Disboards!!

You're not crazy at all! :thumbsup2

Go to allearsnet.com for lots and lots of good info. Enjoy the disboards too. Have fun planning!!

You will love it. I spent my 50th B.D. at WDW w/ friends and had a blast. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful, you won't be disappointed. I had dinner on my B.D. at Boma there. It's a wonderful buffet; lots of strange and unusual items. The way we did it, we went thru the buffet and just took a small spoonful of each item. Then we went back and got seconds on anything we really loved. It's not the type of buffet that just anyone would like but if you have an adventurous palate, you would enjoy it. The best part is the dessert buffet at the end. Overall, a great meal in a beautiful setting. Have a blast. Ed

Welcome to the DIS! I was just at WDW to celebrate my 51st birthday last Sunday - but I was solo. I stayed onsite at my favorite resort (the Swan), and spent the bulk of my time at Epcot. I treated myself to 2 Epcot tours (Hidden Treasures of World Showcase and Gardens of the World), and I spent Sunday and Monday afternoon/evening listening to all 5 sets/day of Off Kilter: www.offkilter.net. :teeth:
