Have any of you gone to a chiropractor where they used this Pro-Adjuster machine on you rather than doing manual adjustments? After having some chronic neck and back pain, a really horrible bout of pain this past weekend prompted me to call a chiropractor for the first time in MANY years. My family doctor had been doing adjustments for me for years, but he won't touch my neck anymore because I have some degenerative disc disease. This past weekend was awful -- I had neck pain that was sending stabbing pains down my arm to the end of my middle finger.
Anyway, the chiro I saw just started using this Pro-Adjuster. He said he wanted me to try it for a few sessions and if I didn't like it, he'd adjust me the old fashioned way. What is this all about? Have any of you tried it and had success with it?
I'm also a little in sticker shock! My insurance co-pay is $40 and I'd found out the hard way a year or so ago when I needed some physical therapy that the insurance will only pay if I'm on a treatment plan three times a week. When I went to a chiropractor in the past, I'd only go once or twice a week or AS NEEDED. Who can afford almost $500 extra a month, especially if I don't need to go three times a week?
I don't know if all insurance companies are like this, but it really seems outrageous to me that I'd have to go so frequently to get some help. This is going to eat up my medical savings plan for the rest of the year, so I guess I can see if I can pay out of pocket and go less frequently after that money is used up.
Ay yi yi.
