Going to Cali in July 2016

Hey! Question about planning a trip to Cali to see Disneyland, Universal, and other CA sights in July 2016. Is it best to stay at a Disney hotel there, or any recommendations for hotels close by?

Honestly, I think it depends on your preference and budget. I find that the hotels near Disneyland cost less than the hotels near Universal & there are a lot more to choose from near DL than US. Then there's the traffic traveling back & fourth. Also, where will you be spending more time at DL or US. All these factor into your decision and what your family prefers. For us, we spend more time at DL and don't wake up as early as others to do rope drop so, the traffic isn't as much of an issue for us as we don't have to deal with as much rush hour traffic & we are a family of 5 so, cost is more important to us. We always stay near DL. I did find a Hampton Inn hotel in Burbank which is really close to US in case you wanted to do a split stay.

We don't stay onsite because I can think of sooo many other things to do with that money!! We are actually staying at the new Homewood Suites next summer, if your going for an extended stay ( we are staying 12 nights) their pricing is great!!! But there are a ton of hotels close to DL, we don't really do other theme parks all though I have considered Universal but we just stay at our hotel at DL and drive ( we drive from MO) instead of switching hotels
