My kids and hubby have Spring Break in mid March. We are taking this time to head to CA to see family. We'd like to take about 4 days mid week to visit the parks (March 15-19)

It's been years since I have lived in the area and I have a few questions.

1. What's the weather likely to be like. I remember it gets pretty cool in the evenings, but what should we expect during the day.

2. My son's only request is that he get to swim. We went to WDW last May and it rained, and rained, and rained and he only got to go to the neat pool once. Is it likely that he would be able to swim in March? I notice most of the Good Neighbor hotels listed on DIS claim to have a 'heated pool'--would that be doable?

3. Any Good Neighbor hotels with an indoor pool?

4. Would going to the parks Mon-Thursday or Tues-Friday be better?

TIA
Amy

Days are nice and evenings are cool AND it can be raining sometimes! You HAVE to be ready for ANYTHING in March.

We go in March lots and this year went in Feb. and all of us swam at the Grand California every day there. The pool was heated a bit...but not much!

I'm not sure of any indoor pools nearby. I've stayed at lots but can't say I've heard of indoor pools close.

I like Mon-Thurs. bec there is less of a crowd and winds usually act up during this month so I don't sweat the fireworks.

We like the weather in March. This past March is was cool enough that we needed jackets in the mornings and evenings (we're from PHX though so it's all relative) and we found ourselves to be a bit warm in the afternoons but not too bad. I'd suggest layers.

I do know that Desert Inn has an indoor pool. I know it's heated because it fogs up the glass. lol We've never been in it though as we spend all our time in the park(s). I don't know about any others.

Given the option of M-TH or Tu- F, I'd go with the latter in hopes of seeing some things that may not be offered except on weekends.

It may be pretty busy during that week too. It was really busy shortly after that when we were there this year. Of course, not busy enough to keep us form doing Spring Break again. lol We'll actually be there around the same time as you.

See "Detailed Weather History for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158

Be advised that Jan-Apr credible rumors have it that the Rivers of America will be drained and so there will be no Fantasmic, Mark Twain, SS Columbia, DC Canoes, or TSI.

I would say your best bet is an indoor pool. Yes some GN's have indoor pools. Can't remember which. Check the links in this thread:

It depends when DLR starts their Spring Break hours. Usually it is right about the week of March 15.

See "Historical DLR Park Hours, Entertainment and Refurbs" - www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2291124

If the park hours are maxed out (DL 8AM to midnight) that means entertainment is maxed out too and I would choose Mon-Thurs. If entertainment is not yet maxed out I would choose Tue-Fri or even Wed-Sat.
