Hi everyone! I posted this on the transportation board too, but I'm hoping someone here might have some advice.

I am leaving for CA and Disneyland in 13 days and need to rent a minivan from LAX.
We used to live in the L.A. area so I have never needed to rent a car in that area. I have been checking rates. We need to get a good deal on this one. (going broke already! LOL)

Ace car rental seemed to have a good price. But I have never heard of them. Anyone have any experience with them? Would you rent from an unknown company or pay more to go with a "name brand"??

I need a minivan for June 18 thru July 4 with unlimited mileage and preferably one that can be taken into Vegas as well. If anyone has any advice of who to try I would appreciate it.

Thank-you so much!!

Go over to mousesavers and look up some of their car rental codes. I have an American Express card, and they have a great code for National. I got a mid-size for a 8/24-8/29 for under $125! Sometimes they have great rates for mini-vans and SUVs, but I did not need that. Go over to mousesavers and play around with the codes they list - there are plenty to pick from. Good luck and have a great trip!

PS: I have driven from LV to Aneheim and back, and the trip is not bad - about 4 hours each way. And it's pretty much all highway.....

Thanks for all the info. :thumbsup2

We used to live in Burbank and went to DL all the time. Vegas too. Moved to MI almost 2 years ago :sad2: and can't wait to go back home if only for awhile. :goodvibes

I've had great luck using alamo.com "hot deals". You cant book them very far in advance, but the rates are pretty good. If you were going this week, you could get a mini van for $189 for a week- so you would be looking at about $400 with tax for 2 weeks. Going with the costco member rate, and booking now for your dates its over $700. If you feel like you can wait a week or so to book, I would consider waiting to see what rate they come out with.

We just got back from Los Angeles & Las Vegas trip last Thursday. We rented from National through their Emerald Club (free membership right now) and were very impressed with how cheap and easy it was.

We got a full-size car out of the "emerald aisle" but also saw several SUVs there (no vans) when we checked in, about 8 pm.

We found that the codes from buying the Entertainment Book were the cheapest for us ($215 for 9 days with free double upgrade). That was flying in to LAX and turning the car in at Las Vegas.
