Going to Baltimore Aquarium...help

We did not realize that if you want to see the Dolphin show, you can't go in until the show's posted time - so if you buy tickets for the 1130 show - you can't enter the aquarium until 1130. We just bought the general admission as the 930 show was sold out and we were traveling back to Ohio and didn't want to wait until 1130.

We didn't have to wait til the dolphin show time to enter the aquarium. We were just there a couple of days ago. The show was at 2:30 and we got there about noon.

I remember getting sandwiches somewhere in the harbor and eating them on the benches. I also remember thaquarium being very crowded the day we wanted to go so we made reservations for the next day. they will give you a time frame to return. That worked much better for us

:confused3 They told us on Sat (at 9:10) that the 9:30 Dolphin show was sold out and the next one didn't start until 1130 and we couldn't enter the aquarium until 1130 if we bought that package. For general admission we could enter any time. The people behind us bought the 1130 package and said they would come back at 1130. Maybe they do that when the crowds are high?

I didn't have time to read the replies, so its probably been mentioned, but they do not let you tour with strollers there.

I'm wondering about the not letting you in until 11:30 if you buy the package with the 11:30 dolphin show. That seems so strange since the shows do tend to start on time and it takes a while to walk from the entrance to the dolphin show. You would certainly miss a good portion of the show if you couldn't even enter the aquarium at all until 11:30.
We went on an insanely busy day last summer and bought a package with our aquarium entry time stamped on our tickets. We couldn't enter until that time, but the dolphin show was a later time--not the entry time stamped on the tickets.
I think the ticket seller must have explained that incorrectly to the PP who thought the show started at the same time as they were allowed to enter the aquarium.

There's a California Tortilla a couple blocks away.

I bought annual passes to our local aquarium that covered getting inton or a substantial discounted price for admission into the Baltimore aquarium as well. I believe there are about 200 locations the pass covers. There are 3 aquariums near us so this is a good cheap deal for us. I believe it is around 60.00 for a one year family pass. I will have to look for the link for you. You may be able to google NC aquariums and get to the link for the year passes. They can be mailed to you. It seems the ticket price per person is 29.99 per adult and then 20.95 for children, so this could save you some money. Reasearch which options are best for you guys. I don't see where you live but the pass may be handy. It is great for me. I can grab my grandchildren and go to the zoo or aquarium and the only thing I have to worry about is gas money. They love picnics, so thats always fun too. I think this is one of the cheapest entertainment choices I have made in a long time!

We loved the Baltimore aquarium. My grandson wants to go there everyday! We had the same issue others had when we went for the Dolphin Show. We had a designated time and because we were planning on being there for the day just came back, but definitely make sure that you know when you are supposed to be there.

I can't help too much with the food part. We ate in the little food court there at the aquarium itself. There were 2 adults, one grandson 4) and I want to think lunch of 3 hot dogs and fries was somewhere around 25.00. Not outrageous but definitely not cheap. Good portions and came with a drink. Obviously can get that MUCH cheaper elsewhere but an idea of what it cost to eat there.

Not sure if mentioned before but Shuckers of Fells Point has extremely fresh crab legs. Excellent and too pricey. I prefer their food too Phillips. Personal opinion.

Hi all,

We are headed down to MD this weekend. We are staying at the HIlton across from Camden Yards.

I was telling my boss baout the trip and he said good luck, the Inner harbor area is crime ridden and downright dangerous for tourists? Is there truth to this?

As with any city, we would be careful. We live 20 mintues outside on NYC and are no strangers on how to be cautious in a city.

I spent the first weekend in May in the Inner Harbor for a cheer competition with my 9 yr old dd. We walked the 5 blocks from our hotel (Marriott brand) to the inner harbor as well as to the convention center near Camden Yard. The inner harbor area is busy, crowded and active throught the day and into the evening. We went to dinner and walked back alone around 8:30 pm and felt safe. I am from NY so am used to being on my toes and aware of my surroundings, but I wouldn't call the inner harbor crime ridden and dangerous.

It is a great area to visit and this is the second year in a row we have spent the weekend at the inner harbor. Enjoy your trip!!

I would just be careful. The tourist spots are fine but venturing to far either way you just need to be aware. I agree with others about Little Italy - great food and pastry. My kids LOVE the Science Center and would rather go there than the aquarium. If you have time check it out!

Thank you. We are staying at the Hilton at camden Yards. Is it a safe walk from that area to Inner Harbor? Also, from that area, Little Italy we would have to drive to?
