Woo Hoo! We are so incredibly excited, and I needed to share it somewhere! Just booked a 7 night stay at Aulani for my kids' spring break this coming March! We decided on a 1 BR villa with an Island view. Really wanted a 2 BR Ocean View, but YIKES $$$$$! I weighed the difference of a studio with ocean view, and a 1 BR with Island view, and ultimately decided we'd be happier with more space. I'm hoping that we will be okay with the view. From looking at the "rooms and views" thread, it looks like a mixed bag when it comes to the Island view. I just knew I definitely wouldn't want standard view. Crossing my fingers that the Island view ends up being ok for us.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the future, and I look forward to sharing trip planning ideas with all of you. We told our kids that we were going at dinner the other night, by loudly blasting the "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" song from Lilo and Stitch. Then I proceeded to do a bad version of a hula dance in my kitchen. I have 2 tween boys, and they must think I'm kinda crazy. I've been smiling a lot this week, and I'm so excited about seeing Aulani!

Thanks everyone!!:yay:

Good for you. We are hoping to go next year too with our 2 20 something dd's but can't book yet until we get dates of a family event! :(

So jealous. I have to wait until March 2015 probably.

Enjoy the trip!!

We'll be there at the end of March/beginning of April! We're not telling our kiddos until Christmas though.

Sounds like a fun way of telling family! I'm going October 5 and 6 . Two small days after a cruise but I'm going to make the most of it! Just over a month now!!!!

Both times we had an Island view it was more of a a partial island/mountain view and a few of the convention center terrace. In reality, it wasn't a big deal because we spent most our time outside by the pool or the lagoon. So we really didn't feel like we missed anything.

Of course, if we have had experienced an ocean view we may feel differently :roll eyes:

Enjoy your trip, it is hands down DVC's best property.

We just booked a few days ago as well for March 14-18th. I'm a bit concerned because that's a weekend and I'm hoping it won't be crazy busy. But we are so excited as well!
