Going to add on 100 at BCV? I think

I think we will call our guide tomorrow and add-on 100 at BCV.

We know for sure that we want more points. Where those points should come from is not for sure.

Here is my take on the situation:

We're waitlisted for 50 pts each at VWL and Vero. I don't really feel like paying $89 for VWL or Vero pts-that is probably what the price will be if the waitlist comes through. We won't be able to use any type of incentive.

We don't need the BCV pts this year so we could do MB.

If we stay at SSR after it opens and really like it I think it will be fairly easy to book at SSR with pts from the other resorts we own. Do you agree?

What do you think the incentives will be at SSR? Better than anything they have offered so far or do you think it will be the standard $10 MB and maybe hotel stays like with BCV?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

kept in mind that VB has the highest maintence fees of any of the DVC resorts.

Yes I would go with BCV in a hurray!!!! my budget won't allow it at this time.

all new DVC resorts are like WDW resorts - older members from OKW and BWV will probably want to try it - so it might be pretty busy at first - but then yes I think reservation there would be fairly easy. - I didn't add BCV and VWL because this places are so new that I expect their members are still enjoying their home resorts.

I was very surprise when DVC offered the hotel stay at BCV - I think they could have easily sold BCV without any of those added things.

So who knows what they are going to offer at SS. I would think it would have to be better - the interest in SS for members to add on is not nearly as great as it was for BCV.

Maybe they will go back and do the free tickets - like they did when OKW (then called DVC) was first opened?

Check with your guide about the cost of the points. I don't know if you get on a waitlist for points when they're $84/point, then the price goes up to $89/point, if you still pay the price that was in effect when you got on the waitlist.

I don't think DVC has announced anything about cost going up at BCV/BWV/..... I think the increase to $89 is so they can offer a "deal" for buying before it's ready. And for the EXTRA 12 years of "ownership". I think the "free Hotel" stays with presales at BCV was because you could not use the points until after June or July, I don't recall the date now. And I expect a simular "type deal" with SSR. IMHO

Good luck sorting out all the options.

We just added on 100 points at BCV. For these reasons: it seems to be pretty close to selling out, and I think it's under-rated right now. Long run, I think it's going to be hardest to book and will have the most resale value (if it comes to that). This is because of location and SAB, and simply because it's a lovely place to stay. I know that when I recently was trying to rent some points, everybody wanting to rent was asking about availability at BCV. We did use MB, and will get our points in Feb. Diana

We just added 100 BCV points today! We had heard that there were only 2000 points left for our use year and didn' t want to take a chance that we would miss out. Also we have an Oct use year and got the MB program with a special exception they bought back the 02 points.

P.S. Guide told me that they sold 51,000 pts last week.

We also added 100 points today at BCV, February use year. I asked my guide about the price increase when SSR goes on sale and he believes it will be a moot point because he thinks all the points will be gone. Dad's Dream, you must have gotten the last of the October use year points at BCV, because if I'm not mistaken this afternoon they only had Feb, March and June use years left.

BTW, I see what you guys mean about point fever! We just closed 10 days ago on our first contract and here we are already adding!!

Floridafam,

Check Out DVCbyResale.com

I recently saw an august use year 100 point block for sale at $70 per point. Most of the 2003 & 2004 points have been used but it is still the right sized block your looking for.

Might even be able to get the owner to move the price per point down a bit more - or at least have them pay the closing costs.

They also have huge amounts of Vero points available, but I agree with most that the maintenance fees are outragous for tha facility.

Good luck,

Whiles

Count us in too, just added 100 points at BCV a few days ago. Can't beat SAB or the great location right next to Epcot!

We just did an add on at BCV too....... We love SAB, and wanted more points before they sell out. Our guide also said she has been very very busy selling off the last of BCV and cant wait to discuss ALL the details of SSR!

I cant wait for the details too......

Since any sales of SS starting August (or whenever) will be presales. It's not big task to have one price for SS and another for other resorts. They can also adjust with MB as well. I seem to recall that this happened with BCV where the price was due to go up at or before closing at BCV but several months after presale began.

We tried to add on 100 points at BCV yesterday (March UY) and they only would sell us 97. How weird is that? They said that was all that they had left. Now I wonder if our guide was missinformed as lulu71 said she heard that they still had March BCV points left today. Has anyone else heard anything about March UY?

Do you think that I should call back and try to get those 3 points or not worry about it? 97 just seems like such a weird number to work with. BTW, they did let us do MB with only 97 points.

I would just keep the 97 points and not worry about it. It sounds odd but it should work just fine. Congratulations.

Add us to the list of BCV add-ons. We added on 100 points last month. :D Sounds like BCV will sell out just from all the add-ons people are doing! :D

We own our original contract (200 points at BCV), and added 100 points when we made our first trip home in June. Gave up our 2003 points to take advantage of MB. It just made sense to add on at our home resort, even though we are definitely interested in an add-on at SS. "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"?

We have decided to not add on the 100 at BCV right now.

We are going to do SSR, believe it or not.

The more we hear about it the more it grows on us.

We might consider the add on if there are still pts left when we buy SSR.

:)
