My husband has a conference at the Dolphin in late July. With the conference comes a 1 day ticket to any park. We were just at WDW over Christmas so the only thing I really want to do is of course the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride because it wasn't open when we were there over Christmas. Here's my question, how long of a wait has the stand-by line been? I'm used to the lines because we go over Christmas but just give me a ballpark time in late July.

Because of our flight, we won't get to the parks until 10am to I'm thinking if we ride it later at night the line won't be so long. Any thoughts on this? Also, do people with 1 day tickets who are staying off site get paper tickets?

BTW, as a frequent Disney vacationer, I don't like the FP+ system. It just takes all of the spontaneity out of the trip. It was stressful enough getting dining ressies!

Standby in late July will probably be 60-90 minutes minimum for most days for most parts of the day. A wildly general guess for a wildly general question.

Late at night just before park close is among your best chances at the shortest wait.

You will get standard RFID tickets, and not MagicBands if that's what you're asking. There are no "paper" tickets anymore, and even those weren't paper.
