It is the soonest we will be able to go and as we were supposed to be going this summer I promised DS we would go Spring Break instead. I keep reading about how crowded it is Spring Break and I am getting nervous. We went before the end of June and it was very crowded and oh so hot. March 12 is the beginning of our trip and so will be much cooler. Are the crowds just totally unmanageable then? We do FP but will skip the Early Entry park each day to try to miss some crowds. Any other ideas?

My first WDW trip took place over my Spring Break which fell just about the same time as yours (maybe just a week before?) It was a perfect time to go though! The whole time we were there, the longest line we waited in was 20 minutes and that was because we decided to ride SM about 7:00 at night. The only complaint I had about this time of the year though was the weather. It was cool, not the sunny FL weather I was hoping for. Remember to pack plenty of jeans and long sleeve T's and you'll be fine!

We did the two weeks on either side of Easter this year and it was very nice. Yes, some days were more crowded than others but we were able to do everything we wanted to do. We did Epcot on Easter Sunday and it felt practically deserted! The weather was a real plus, too.

Just plan well, use fastpass, and enjoy!

Glad to hear some positivies about spring break. In 2005 ours is the 2 weeks preceding Easter and I'm worried about going then. Crowds are not my thing!

I am so relieved also. I could just see DS and I walking up to MGM and the crowd being 400 deep to get in. I can handle crowds and know we won't have the parks to ourselves. I just hate to be miserable and not able to move. If the parks get that way we will just move to another park or back to the hotel for a while. Thanks for the posts.

We were there the last week of March 2004. The crowds were manageable. We did use fast pass as often as possible. The MK (mostly Fantasyland) was quite crowed during the afternoon but everything else was fine. We went prepared for large crowds, so our mindset was to work with it the best we could.

Also the weather was absolutely perfect. The temp were in the mid to upper 70's. (I'm not a fan of the heat). We went one year mid June. NEVER AGAIN....WAY TO HOT.

Go for it, you and DS will do fine.

Do the early entry! You will accomplish more in that hour than any other time of the day. Hopefully you will have park hopper tickets that allow you to visit another park that same day.

I went during Easter week this year and it was great. The weather was gorgeous, I've never seen cloudless blue skies in FL!
It was a little chilly for me to swim most days (I like it hot!) even in the heated pools, but my kids didn't care.
You've gotta have a good solid plan for the parks, I used Tour Guide Mike. His plans worked great.
Make your PS' early too.
I would definitely do spring break in WDW again!

We went from 3/9-3/16 this year. The first 3 days were great

My first WDW trip took place over my Spring Break which fell just about the same time as yours (maybe just a week before?)

Which fell into this timeframe. The 4th day was like a whole new world-- I couldn't believe the masses of people that arrived. By the 5th day--- FP's were gone by noon, and standby lines were 2+ hrs!!! It was the busiest I have seen ever (I went over Easter in 2002 and it was busier this past March-- however post 9/11 travel in 2002 was way down too so that had a lot to do w/ it).

Check the Florida school schedules because that was were we went wrong. Many schools within a few hrs were out on spring break so it was flooded w/ people.

The one night the first showing of Spectro was filled 3-4 people deep 2 hrs before the actual parade!!!! Which was ridiculous-- as it was showing twice a night for 3 nights in a row!!!

I do think the early Easter will have a huge impact on those March crowds and Spring breaks. Some schools may plan their March breaks to coincide w/ Easter a bit more now.

You're not crazy, just have the right attitude and know there will be crowds and you will have a great time.
