I know this has probably been discussed before, but whats the current going rate for a tooth from the tooth fairy? My DD is almost ready to have her first visit!!

The tooth fairy gave $5.00 for the first, and $2.00 for the next ones. One Gold dollar coin (to save) and 4 quarters to spend!

Not sure what the going rate is but my kids all got $1 per tooth. Now there were actually a couple times the tooth fairy ran out of singles and her assistant couldn't break a $5 bill so they got $5 for a tooth.

Our DS gets however many quarters it takes to fill up his "tooth box". It is the same size around as a quarter, and I think it takes 5 or so to fill it up, so $1.25 to maybe $1.50.

we used the tooth fairy for counting money - The tooth fairy left different amounts, always over $1 - lots of change - and the kids always had to count how much the tooth fairy left - we have a "tooth box" (you can find them in ceramic stores, or just get an empty box from Target, $1 store for jewelry, the little boxes that is and paint a tooth on it - )

Now that the molars are coming out on our last child, that tooth fairy more often than not "forgets" to stop by and leaves $5!!

Our tooth fairy gives $1. She will give more if the loss was a traumatic one. (IE took a long time to come out, lots of beeding, pulled by daddy before is should have, etc)

always coins, .50 or $1 and amount of $2-3 total for each time.

For pulled teeth, yup my daughter had 6 pulled at once for her braces... $20 a piece.

The Tooth Fairy leaves $1/tooth here. One time it was scraped up in dimes and nickels because she didn't want to leave a $20. ;)

$5 for the first tooth. I think I gave $2 for the others.

I got a .25 per tooth.

Me too! :thumbsup2
Reading this I'm finding that the tooth fairy is a lot more giving these days, or at least it takes inflation costs into consideration.

Usually TF brought 1.00 bill and a handful of change. Sometimes that plus a 1.00 coin for saving. Sometimes a Disney Trading pin and a dollar.

TF visited our house last night... DD12 had her 8th baby tooth to be pulled out by the dentist yesterday. Wouldn't come out on it's own. The dentist broke the remaining root and had to dig around for it. DD12 was still digging pieces out at bedtime. Very traumatic for all concerned. TF left 5.00.

$20 for the first tooth, either $2-3 dollars for every other depending on how many singles the tooth fairy has in her wallet ;)

Our tooth fairy just started giving the $1 gold coins. DS thinks it's pretty special.

There's a stash someplace in order to be prepared.....

;)

DS and DDIL , oops Tooth Fairy, give $1 but for some reason if you pull a tooth at Gramma's house she leaves $5. :rolleyes1

Same here, although after DS got his $20, DD insists she only got $10 for her first tooth. :confused3 They've gotten a little extra for front teeth, as well.
