I'm going to WDW Sat - Tues. The forecast calls for highs right around 70 (give or take a few degrees). Is it warm enough for shorts and maybe a sweatshirt, or do I need jeans? Need help packing!!!

Hi
I would pack a pair just in case - you can always wear them again or wash them if need be - I would go on the side of caution - I went in 05 in Jan and I had the ones I wore down and another pair just in case. I never did wear them until we left.
Have fun!

We just got back on Sunday and I would definitely take jeans (or some sort of pants). Mid-afternoon temps weren't bad but it was cold in the morning and at night.

Bring both!! We have a Jan. or Feb. WDW vacation for the last several years and I always pack half summery type clothes and half late fallish type clothes. Many years I need some of both for the week. The weather forcast can change quickly too. We were just down the first week in Feb. and the forecast before we left was calling a weekend in the high 70's and even when we got there on Tuesday and Wednesday the forecast was still calling for nice temps....well it changed quickly overnight and ended up being in the low 60's with temps at night in the 40's. So you need to be prepared for all types of weather this time of year!!

How bout shorts, pants, and capri's...only you know what you are comfortable in. I always pack a little extra JUST IN CASE!

I may be the only person responding so far who actually lives here. We are having a "cold" front going through right now which is dropping the temps down into the 60's :yay:

Think about what you wear at home in the 60's and that would solve your problem. Then bring a sweatshirt or jacket for early AM or PM and you will be set. Inside the parks seems to be warmer because there are things blocking the wind. When you get on the tram and the wind gets you it is very cool.
I was just there last Friday and Saturday and did not get too hot in light weight jeans and a short sleeved shirt.

Our local forecast doesn't show it getting back up into the 70's before next Tuesday. But there are many at the parks in shorts, I guess if they come from 10 below 60's feels real warm!

I would definitely bring jeans for the evenings. We just got back on Monday and though it was warm during the day, we were glad we had jeans at night!

Update, we have a major cold front now and it is cooler than expected. The day time temps will be in the 60's but the nights will be cold. Saturday night is forecast at 37 and Sunday night is 35 and Monday night is 49.

I would bring a jacket for the evenings if you are going to be out.

I would take both. We were just in WDW 2/3-2/10 and we had a cold snap. Temps were in the upper 50's - we wore jeans, long sleve shirts and jackets. By the end of the week it was in the low 70's - we were still in our jeans but with lighter tops on. It gets breezy in the evening and when we went to Fantasmics we got rather wet - but we had great seats!!
There ought to be a law that it can never be below 72 degrees in Florida:rolleyes:
Have an awesome trip!! I can't wait to go back!!:cool1:

This time of year? I'd plan on swings in the weather, if for no other reason than it's sometimes hard to acclimate to shifts. And I'd personally rather be too hot than too cold.

I would pack at least a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, just in case. You never know what mother nature might throw at you, despite what is "normal" for that time of year or what is predicted. January 2003, we packed for what was "typical", meaning mostly shorts and t-shirts, and we ended up being there for one of the coldest Januarys on record. It reached 19 degrees a couple overnights, and we didn't put on shorts until the last two days we were there, ended up having to go out and buy a couple extra sweatshirts. Best to be prepared.

And even if it is all 70s, nights can be breezy sometimes.

Take a little of each, winter nights in Central Florida can be cool.

Today was cold and windy in Orlando when we left at 11 AM. A sign had a temp of only 50 degrees. Last nights PPP was definitely chilly. I had to drop $60 on a jacket at the park because I used to sweatchirt to cover my DS2 up...:sad2:

Hope they brought jens and a jacket. Morning temp this morning is 33 in Orlando. There was a heavy frost. Not supposed to reach much more than 60 for daytime high. Another cold night ahead, but clouds in the sky so should keep temps above 37 tonight. Sunday is supposed to be windy, too.
